Sorry to be a burden, but in trying to get at my MS dash, see post earlier today, I have totally ballsed up my xbox. I have a softmodded xbox (splinter cell) with evox and xbmc installed. Anyway, I was unable to access ms dash (the file wouldn't load when trying to run it through xbmc file manager thingy). I thought maybe it was a problem with the file, so what I thought i'd do (you fool) is retreive a backed up copy of xboxdash.xbe from my backed up files (I did the backup when softmodding and found an xboxdash.xbe in E:backup\MS) and drop it into the root of C and then open this using xmbc file manager.

Anyway, bad news. I get this error 21 thing. When I restart the xbox, I get the xbox splash screen initially and then straight to the error 21 (damn right my xbox requires service). tried to load a xbox live game and restore the MS Dash but of course it is the xboxdash.xbe that's the problem. Still don't know why it doesn't just go straight to my default dash which is xbmc.

anyway, can anyone help me restore my xbox to some level of working order? Pleeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeease.

Hopefully your Splinter Cell exploit save game is still on your xbox? Load splintercell and re-install the softmod using the savegame exploit, to get it back to a working state.

Aaaah, I should have thought of that. It certainly did the trick and my xbox is now back to where it was - a distinct inmprovement on lunchtime, thanks. But now I'm back to my original problem of not being able to return to my xbox dash.

Do I need to reload splinter cell and restore MS or restore Mod to get back to an un-modded state? Then re-mod it?

Thanks!
