Just that :) Call me brave but I consider myself to be an *expert* on XBMC. If you have any questions no matter how small/petty I and others will endeavour to answer them.

on-line gaming for free..play mp3/divx dvds..stream dbox (so I read) .. have the milkdrop visualisation on mp3's.. more than enough for most especially when accompanied by 2x floor standing mission speakers...

JL what version of xbmc do you use.
Do you update yours every time a new build is released.
Or do you just stick to the official release?

Thanks

Re:XBMC How To Upgrade.

Exorcist download the 'latest version' of XBMC

Now:
Delete the contents of your XBMC folder. Goto TDATA folder and delete the folder with the word 'face' in it. Goto UDATA folder and delete the folder with the word 'face' in it. Now install the latest version of XBMC and it should work m8. I have my Xbox boot from XBMC and stream files from my pc etc. I can show you that too if you like. ANY problems at all let it rip..

kind regards; JL.

did you miss this one?

I did indeed sorry m8 I was probably drunk :) Here goes:

Open up XboxMediaCentre.xml for editing
edit-find-rss

look at the difference between your rss config and mine:

<rss>
<set id="1">
<feed updateinterval="30">http://www.xbox-scene.com/xbox1data/xbox-scene.xml</feed>
<feed updateinterval="30">http://news.bbc.co.uk/rss/newsonline_world_edition/front_page/rss.xml</feed>
</set>
</rss>

Now I get Xbox Scene followed by BBC News rss feeds..is that what you mean?

Hey mate, iv been using XBMC for quite awhile, and have a small question which hopefully you can help me with.

Does XBMC support local playback of .nsv file format videos? I did post on XBOX-Scene over two weeks ago but still no response... Maybe you can help?

At the moment I FTP my file to my XBOX and it comes up under the Video section as it supposed to but when I try to open it nothing happens... Any ideas?

I think I read XBMC only supports VP3 video codec for this format at the moment. The file im using says it VP31, not sure if this is why.

The VP version looks like the problem although I'm no expert.

Compatible video extensions:

<videoextensions>.3gp|.nsv|.ts|.ty|.strm|.rm|.rmvb|.m3u|.ifo|.mov|.qt|.divx|.xvid|.bivx|.vob|.nrg|.img|.iso|.pva|.wmv|.asf|.asx|.ogm|.m2v|.avi|.bin|.dat|.mpg|.mpeg|.mp4|.mkv|.avc|.vp3|.svq3|.nuv|.viv|.dv|.fli|.rar|.001|.wpl|.zip</videoextensions>

regards, JL.

ps. perhaps there is a way to convert it?
