xbox 360 modding?? any version possible? cheers

The boy wants a xbox 360 so he can play fifa as we have a wii u already for other stuff...


What does the modding involved and can it be used like the old wiis? with a external hard drive or do the games have to be on disks?

is there a particular xbox 360 to get or can they all be modded/hacked?

There's a few options.

Flashing - easiest to do on older phat xboxes but can be done with all xboxes. Means you can play your backups (copies) of your games.

Rgh/JTAG - involves wiring a chip into your console and with this you can run unsigned code (Xbox live arcade games, dlc etc) and run all off a hard drive with no need for discs.

Xkey - might suit your needs best but also most expensive, means playing your backups off a hard drive while also being able to play online.

The question now is , do you need xbox live , if the answer is no then go for the RGH mod.If you are capable of soldering then this can be done by yourself but if it`s a one off thing , it would be cheaper to get someone to do it. There`s a few good blokes on here that can do it , including myself

well its only because money is tight this year(like most) and i thought a old xbox 360 with loads of games still has loads of playability.

Dont think i would let them go on live anyway as they all under 15.


i can solder and have all equipment but would rather some one did it that knew what they was doing.

So is there a particular model i need to look for? Obviously if im modding a base 360 with controllers will do?
