Replace a phat drive help please

I have been given a phat 360 with a drive open fault on it. Is it possible to swap the drive for another one by copying the key from the original and putting it onto the other drive? I assume there is some way within jungle flasher. Does it need to be the same make of drive?

hi, if your wanting to use xbox live mate best getting same make drive, probably be easier all round to get same drive anyway, what drive is init do you know ? has it got the opentray error did you say ? have you tried adjusting the laser to see if that helps

The simplest thing is like for like replacement and use original pcb. There are options to use different drives with original key.

What drive is in there at the moment?

It's a liteon drive and I have a spare liteon drive too and also a hitachi. I haven't tried adjusting the laser yet. I'll look on YouTube for a video. Cheers

hi, use the liteon if needed then mate, depending which hitachi drive it is it might not work with xgd3 titles as most hitachi drives dont have the security needed to play xgd3 titles, if laser adjustment doesnt work then use your spare liteon,

Cheers for the advice - would I need to swap pcb's or is there a way to clone it in jungle flasher?

hi, you can swap pcbs or just flash the new liteon drive with the older liteon drive firmware, assuming the spare liteon drive you have is for a phat not a slim, if you got all gear for flashing id just flash new drive but if not swap pcbs,

Yeah, both phat drives and got a usbpro v2. Flashed a few drives (liteon) but not copied drive key from one to the other before.

Dump original, save firmware. Put drive away.

Same as flashing fresh, load target firmware ( select the original one you backed up), flash. Enjoy.

Use the same make model drive to avoid any issues or errors , dont need the dreaded E64 :-( or was it 74?

All sorted cheers mate, copied the key and then flashed with lt3.0 - worked a treat.

you can spoof you drive with your keys but keep your old drive for updating the system also it is best to use a liteon
