hitachi 46 drive

hi guys im asking a question fro my friend..he has a hitachi 46 drive, its spoofed as a benq and works fine with dvds and original games, but when flashed with lt2.0, the flash completes tho it wont play backups, It wont take lt3.0 as he read somewhere the hitachi 46 cant take that. does anyone have any suggstions on how fix this or is he lost?

Are the original games new or old games?

The wonder of Hitachi 46 is that they do not perform the AP checks. However, people say that if the console expects a drive which performs the check, but does not respond, the game will not work. I have played games on the wrong drive on jtags so cannot say if this is correct for retail consoles. If you want, you could flash the correct firmware for the drive and the correct drive key for the console and see if that works for you.

Easier to get a Benq drive.
