bought some verbs off fleabay(babz media).. i first ran it through abgx no probs, then applied the lt3.0 -2.0 patch in xbox creator, used imgburn(opc) unchecked and burned at 2.4xno probs, verified ok. i get unrecognized disc in my lt 2.0 hitachi and the same with my lt 3.0 liteon.

i then burned the same iso with an aone gold at 4X and the disc reads no probs in both machines.

Is there any settings i could have missed out for verbs.

why are you applying the patch in XBC? ABGX does this for you.
are you using a Liteon with burnermax firmware?

I've never bought into the "Verbs are best" nonsense.
I've got Xbox 360 games burnt onto Aones here from circa 2006 and they still boot perfectly and I've never had a laser die on me either.
Obviously YMMV, but from where I'm standing Aones are an absolute bargain and have saved me hundreds of pounds in comparison to buying Verbatim.

sorry dave. i wasnt aware of that. yes i'm using an ihas drive

Aones are fantastic value for money... But they are definitely hit and miss maybe quality control issues in production. I have had batches that have all burned fine without any issues. I've also have packs of 25 where at least 18 of them have been coasters ! With burn failures commonly at the layer break.
Also similar cheap disks with the same dye type have also been good, Ritek, Ridisc etc. Even though I have had bad batches of Aones the overall saving compared to Verbs is huge.
It also depends a lot on the particular DVD burner and firmware your using...some drives just do not liek Aones, they havent got the correct write straegies in firmare fir the RICOH dye type used on Aones.. So sometimes Aones get a lot of bad reviews when it's actually the DVD burner at fault...

When Verbs were made by Tayo Youden they were the best you could buy, but now they are made by Mitsubishi Chemical Corp (MCC) and have gone downhill.

Aones are made by Ricoh Co. Ltd and are quite good, but still no match for Tayo Youden, but most people wont pay for quality.

I always burned with Verbs but found i had a lot of disk not reading with the xgd3 games.I few were getting setting right but lost about 20 in total they would 100% verify and not install on 3 machines.
I thought i would try aones which i bought for normal sized games(+gold edition) and 5 out of 5 worked burning 4x.
I am now using the verbs for the smaller sized games and aones for full sized disk.
i was shocked with results and i have verbs from both sites of manufacture
