updated my friends hitatchi 47 which was working well . tried to update to the new lt+2 which all went well but now wont play either original or backups! i have tried to restore and also update but all is the same! any ideas guys as i have spent 3 hours going over and over jungle flashers tuts!

hiya, what happens when you try to play a game ? does it just say open tray or come up with dirty discs error etc etc ? thanks

did you try a game before you flashed it ? was it playing games or did your friend just tell you it was ? sounds like a laser issue not reading the discs, have you had the drive opened up ? al leads plaugged in etc ?

yeah i seen it playing a day or 2 ago so all was good! was even playing gears 3 original but was trying to update which seemed to work ok but now get nothing either with a original game or backup. im stumped!

i have flashed and reflashed about 5 times tonight. it worked with pre xbgd3 games orginals and backups but after flashing it now just gives me open tray

hiya, ive read a few people have trouble with the magnet inside the hitachi drives aswell, i think it gets stuck in the lid or something so it will give you a open tray error, i could be wrong but i cant see how it can have anything to do with flashign it, i would think its something to do with the drive it self,
are you trying it a few times after you have flashed it, like turn xbox on, then off, then on again try a game, off again , then on and try a game, thanks

does it play dvds mate ? just trying to find a tutorial now of this magnet check but cant seem to find one, i think its getting late lol

you can see the magnet in this you tube video, and i think it sometimes get stuck onto the bit they take out of the lid on the video and it shunt be there, it should be like on the video and on the drive spinning bit in the middle of where the disk goes, if that makes sense, im gona have to get off now mate its getting very late, hope you sort it, thanks

This happened to me mate. I know it may not be the answer but i forgot to plug the sata cable back in.

thanks guys help much appreciated as always. finally got it after adjusting the laser for hours. plays games now just not mw3 but that could be my copy im hoping.

just make shure you use verbs and burn at 2.4x

then all will be fine ,i had the same trouble but sorted it with the above

I'm bewildered with this post though? updated to LT+2.0 and then it stopped reading games, good that your sorted just confusing that after an update the disks stopped working and you've been messing with the laser?

i think its been a total coincidence to be honest. the laser was reading 5.4 ohms when the tut that was posted said it should be between 3 and 3.4 ish. once i got that adjusted it started to play them again no problems apart from mw3. i have read conflicting reports about burning the new games, can it be done with a normal burner at all or do i need the max burner? ive burnt it twice using imgburn but it looks like the layer break is being set incorrectly even the the .dvd file has it correct. im using verbs and done the first at 8 x and the second at 4 but no joy

if your burning with a normal writer in image burn then does it not come up with right to the edge of the medium? we all went and bought an "ihas" drive that was flashed with some CFW to allow the new bigger games to be wrote to the DVDdisks with out this error message popping up.

Then again we heard that offline and on line machines are all affected with the new bin (via live for on line machines) and offline via game disks...

yeah it asks if you want to truncate the image which other tuts say to do and it burns fine but just gives and open tray message on the console. this console is banned already anyway but not sure if its the weak laser causing an issue or what. might just get one of those drives and see what happens if it doesnt work. i have downloaded another version of the game just incase the previous one had issues so will see shortly
