yeah yeah Dibbs here again, I'm wanting to put the new freestyle dash on my 360, just a question though?

At the moment i have xex menu on there should i format the internal HDD and then install the files that come with the download for the new menu to the root of the hard drive using a data transfer cable?

Copy the "freestyle" folder into the root of USB0: or HDD1:

Copy the proper boot package to hdd1:\Content\0000000000000000\C0DE9999\00007000\ to have it show in the NXE Dashboard.

This is what i'm after....

I left Xexmenu on there and installed it alongside just as you have posted and it works fine. It doesn't boot to that menu, at least not on mine. You need to launch it from games then it looks like that.

I used USB hard drive to copy it over using Xexmenu :)

ah i see, i have a USB external hard drive and I've just dug out my data transfer cable for the 360, you think i should just install it on the root of the external USB drive and then go to games to launch it like you said?

Copy the files to the USB drive then using Xexmenu copy from the USB drive as described in first post to the Xbox hard drive.

I have mine installed - hdd1:
Then just stick the "Quickboot container" in hdd1:\Content\0000000000000000\C0DE9999\00007000\.
That worked for me. Great little app. Once they have system settings and Audio/Video in there then im going to ditch the ms dash all together.

mmm, ok copied over the folder freestyle folder to HDD1 and in there i now have

Cache
Content
Freestyle
name.txt

and then i copied over freestyle-hdd to the following

hdd1:\Content\0000000000000000\C0DE9999\00007000\.

but mine is

hdd1:\Content\0000000000000000\C0DE9999\00008000\.

So in CODE9999\00008000 i now have

code9999OF586558
freestyle-hdd
nxe2god

but not worky?

should i be copying the whole folder over the one that has

freestyle
fsd indexer
launch
runXEX
source

rather than just the freestyle folder?

cheers

ok i went too xex menu and them from there if i go too hdd1\freestyle i can see the freestyledash.xex and if i run it then the new dashboard loads up...i'm presuming it should be underneath the exe menu under games rather than running it like that

and then i copied over freestyle-hdd to the following

hdd1:\Content\0000000000000000\C0DE9999\00007000\.

but mine is

hdd1:\Content\0000000000000000\C0DE9999\00008000\.

What does that mean?
You should create a folder called 00007000 as above and copy freestyle-hdd in there. It should then appear on the games list under All Games.

The folder to copy to the root is called Freestyle and contains base, media and skin folders and freestyledash.xex

(p.s is there any reason why in the menu that i don't see all the previews or screenshots of the games that are installed on the hard drive?)

Can't tell you any more. You are now 1 step ahead of me :)

I'm trying to get some Lips DLC working ATM before I start messing around with Freestyle again.

ah how cool is that, after running FSD indexer then it downloads all the backgrounds and that for you...... hope you get your game working matey...thanks for the help everyone...

So if i want to install any more dashboards then just install them all into that 00007 folder..?

here's a little snip it of it on for those that wanna see it...

You can install more "Skins" for that freestyle dashboard by putting them in the dedicated skin folder which in your case is now located in
HDD1:FreeStyle/Skins.
Remember to do the vertical had horizontal positioning as this sorts out the dash to complement your tv.
You can if you like download the video previews of all the games on your HD.....but TBH i think that is a bit of a wast of space on the old HD so I personally stayed clear of that.
The skin I have installed at the moment is ConnxtionV2 (Google for free download). I think it is a neat little skin and saves me the bother/effort of trying to make 1 up for myself.

glad you sorted freestyle out with covers dibbers :)

The next step is to get trailers in to it

I uploaded a whole XBLA preview trailer pack onto the usenet.....but then may aswell get it at same time get your hdd filled up as its another 2-3gb or so.

Also have a boat load of disc based game trailers but yet to sort them ones out

oh and www.spiffy360.com for the different skins available. Last time I checked, Gryz, Aquatica, and Connxtion seemed to be the most popular ones. Theres some vids of a skin called XDesk that has been due to come out for some time (early release had no video support)...can't wait to use that one myself as it looks amazing

balls - looks like it may have been cancelled...hope someone can take over the project

Thanks for that buddy, don't think i'll bother with the trailers, are these trailers of the games?

Liking the new dashboard like and the skins are awesome, i'll post a little video up the night for you all to see it (for us n00bs to ponder over!)

Just need to fill up XBLA now and some emulators ;)

Class....all working and now all XBLA games! mint!

I love freestyle
I've modded the ghost skin to my liking and my non jtag work mates are GREEN

anyone tried burning the loader iso to disk if so what did you use.

I tried a D/L DVD same as i would for a game and used nero but all i get when i put it in the box is the dvd clicks a lot then says eject disk

just a question matey, why were you trying to burn the loader to disk?

I burnt freestyle-hdd.iso from the launch folder with nero. i have other launch file in in hdd1:\Content\0000000000000000\C0DE9999\00007000\ and that works fine, just wanted to try the disk one so i could go from switch on straight to freestyle

theres a program to do that will have a look for it
