Okay guys, I've been in and around the xbox scene for a while so know pretty much as much there is to know about backups etc.

My question however is, I've noticed increasing there are DLC files, I'm assumind downloadable content available to download from newsgroups etc.

I'm assuming this is some of the extra stuff you can get when you connect to xbox live for various games.

My question is if I download this onto my pc, how do I then transfer it to my xbox?

If anyone can help, would be greatly appreciated.

You can only use the DLC off newsgroups if your box is Jtagged.

well you need a jataged box and a transfer cable (ebay) and xplorer360 on your PC

if you've increased the size of your hard drive up to 250Gb you need the 250Gb version of xplorer360.

check the nfo file but everyon dlc i've had you copy into hdd:/partition3/content/0000000000000000/

if your using xmenu and have setup safe networking you can just ftp the files to your drive but i've never done that

i increased the size of the drive to a 300 gig am i stuck, i tried plugging it into the pc using the data transfer cable the pc finds it but then it doesn't show up under drives....tried using explorer as well but that was no good, did i goof up getting a 300 or can i plop them on the external one that has all the games on it?

don't think you can put DLC on an external (but i stand to be corrected)

I don't think you can have a 360 drive bigger than a 250Gb cos that's the biggest M$ have ever done so that's the biggest signature file anyone's been able to lift.

as far as i know you can only upgrade with a Western Digital BEVS series drive and i'm not sure if you can use the 250Gb signature file with a 300Gb but if you can you'd only get 250Gb after you've flashed it. You can't just put a new drive into the 360 HD case.

once the drives been upgraded you can see the drive with explorer360 (not windows explorer) but a 250Gb drive needs the newer 260Gb version of explorer360 (other wise you see the 3 partitions but sod all else)

like i said before every piece of DLC i've used goes in partition3/content/0000000000000000/ then a sub dir based on the game id of the game its for. similarly all updates i've done to go in partition3/cache

he has a jtagged console GoldwingUK......well I presume he's using that console not another :)

Do you mean the main hdd that connects to side of 360?

Never even knew you could get a 300gb hdd (just searched tho and yup you can :))

I have a 320gb in the side there. Used for holding all XBLA, DLC, savegames, XEXMenu and Title updates.......other games on the usb hdds

The drives wont show up in a pc under My Computer.

You say you tried exploror?

Do you mean Xplorer360? With Xplorer360 you have to get the version that matches the size drive you have. Otherwise it shows up the main partition as being empty and will mess it up having to format it again.

So in my case I used Xplorer360_320gb.rar. I can't see a 300gb version of the file though.

Alternatively though search for a file called "FATX Patched By CYRAX" (cracked version as its a pay for software). If struggle to find it then let me know and will upload it somewhere. That should read any hdd size and let you copy them over no problem. (Mind its so slow copying to these specially formatted hdds on the pc when dealing with lots of smaller files - I find it quicker just to copy to usb stick then transfer on the 360 - when adding more DLC stuff I found)

I should sort your hdds out and fill them up - you should come here and fix this fookin rrod for me :p

yeah Goldwing I'm on about the jtag that i have matey.

lmfao! yeah i know you come and sort me hdd drive out and I'll have a go at that RROD for you!

Ah man so i went into the shop and they didn't have a bloody 250 so me thinking i was Mr Clever bought a 300 gig one.

It would be cool if along with using XeX menu i could download xbla and that to it as it's just sitting there with 30 k of profile info on it at the minute.

How ever this box is E74 now (as per discussions in the other thread) so i have to get it back up and running before having a go at it.

Not the end of the world though if i have to get a 250 or so or even go down the route that you just told me to do to copy the games over and that

i could always send you the drive if you wanna fill it up and i could always have a go at the RROD for you! :Fish:

But saying that nothing more pleasing that sorting it your self

lol

maybe its them nylon washers giving you the problem ;)

Once you have xexmenu on there to begin with the rest is a doddle.

A few sites to get all the XBLA titles, with the help of jdownloader (think I may have seen a newsgroup nzb file of a big batch too)

then a quick run through XM360 to unlock them all to full versions for you :)

No problems though if you do want a hand getting the drive filled up :)

Mind - I think, at a rough guesstimate without looking, that all the XBLA stuff is only about 40gb or so :) So plenty room for more junk to go on there :)

Having a helluva time trying to find lots of DLC though - and no major ways to sort out the missing from the have yet :)

Got all the Rock Band dlc tracks to copy over and organised now tho :p
