info on dosflash needed please

having trouble with jungle writing to the liteon,read ok and manged to erase but freezes on write,
anyways never used dosflash so in the tut is is just a case of renaming my Lite_CFW what i created with jungleflasher to hacked.bin and when asked what it wants to do choose write as drive is in vendor mode or have a just had a beer to many now after it doing my nut in lol

doesnt iprep use the format its in now? lite_cfw? it does with the sammy if i remember correctly, sam_ofw to read and sam_cfw to write, or something very close.

im sure if im wrong someone will pipe up but as far as i remember thats the case.

on screen instruction with iprep anyway so you cant go wrong and it does liteons i believe, not that ive had to do one yet.

i used Version: 008.9 says liteon support in the read me txt.

hey up just checked for you and yeah seens you drop it in firmware folder as .bin even tho the command in iprep is the cfw command

also got the latest ixdef if you want it, not sure its the same as whats in that version of iprep, i saw it posted somewhere as the latest so dropped it in my version.

turn your msn if you want it.

also when you say iprep didnt see the files, what had you named them.

it wont be hacked.bin, when iprep makes my firmware and i check the firmware folder the firmware is listed as BenCFW.bin

so if you have the hack firmware it should be a case of renaming it LitCFW.bin or LiteCFW.bin whichever is the right one.

then when you type the command in iprep it should find and recognize that firmware.

i do mine from start to finish in iprep so it auto names it and auto puts it in firmware folder but i cant see why if you have firmware already you cant just name it right and then just flash instead of read and flash which is the full irep way.

[NEW] Liteon Frozen Cant Read Or Flash?? Read My Guide Here
This tut written for iprep V9 iprep.
10.2 and soon TBR 10.7 will differ from v9.

Your drive is blank it now needs to be flashed.
You will need to eject the tray if you have closed it see below.
You will need to use iprep to flash the firmware back.
ALL YOU NEED IS IN MY DOWNLOAD THREAD.
DOWNLOAD THREAD HERE

Making your new firmware.
open jungle flasher and.

1. select load source firmware (your dummy.bin from JF dump)
2. yes to load ixtreme or manually select the liteon ix1.6.bin file.
3. click spoof source to target. (details will be copied across)
4. click save to file
5. You MUST save as litcfw.bin

Now save this to iprep usb drive folder Backups\1234567\12345
you may need to make the folder 1234567 and then inside that folder create the folder 12345 save the litcfw.bin in there.

Opening the tray: follow pic below then.....
Once you can open the tray pull the tray out fully and push half way back in. Now, hook it up to the PC using
Connectivity Kit and Sata, power on and flash your new firmware.

Flashing your liteon in iprep.
Start iprep and do the following:

1. flit 1234567 12345
2. follow instructions (power cycle drive etc)
3. select W to write firmware
4. type when asked litcfw.bin
Thats it youre flashed.


Trouble shooting!
If you get unknown vendor issue or unkown flash chip:

My guide for Unkown flash chip aka 0x80 FF80 fix.

Unplug all cables from dvd drive count to 4 seconds then replug everything back up.
still no joy:
Reboot pc this time leave drive powered on if pc freezes then you will have to restart with drive off.

Also try erasing your drive with L-O-Eras.exe.
copy the l-o-eras.exe to the root of your iprep usb stick.
start iprep and at the prompt type l-o-eras.exe EC00 (replace EC00 with your sata port)
You may need to do this several times until you get the correct drive response. (0x72)
