m8 these are about 60 quid if im not wrong as as far as i here are very choosy about which router they will connect to. if you have wireless internert in your home and have a wifi laptop all you have to do is share your internet connection and plug an ethernet cable from your laptop to your 360 and thats it. no 60quid for something that might not work...

1. You can either get an RJ45 cable from your xbox into your wireless router.

2. You can do the above RJ45 from xbox to laptop sharing wifi internet connection a little complicated if you dont know what your doing.

3. The wifi adaptor is around £60 the clean and tidy way no wires :).

and you will need to subscribe to the xbox live service various prices depending on how long you wish to subscribe for.

Enjoy

Thanks for that guys i have connected a ethernet cable to my laptop which has a belkin card in it and according to my laptop i'm connected at 100mbs/sec but when i go to my tv and do a test through xbox or try to connect to xbox live it says theres a problem with the connection. Can you help me further with this problem cheers

Have you bridged the two connections?
iirc you have to highlight the nic card the xbox is connected to and the nic card thats connected to the internet,
then right click and select bridge connections.

I might sound a bit thick here but what is iirc and nic card? lol

thanks wiz but whats the nic is it the belkin card in the laptop or is it something in the xbox lol

Ok you will have plugged the crossover cable from the xbox into the computer yes?
So thats one nic card (on pc)
I presume you have another nic card or wireless card in the pc for connecting to the internet,
That will be your second nic card.

Now I will take a leap of faith here and presume that the lappy has wireless,so you may have to go into your network control panel and enable the inbuilt nic card,
once you have the two of them enabled you can then select them and bridge the connections.

I hope I haven't confused you even more but I am not the best at describing things :)

thanks again wiz i will give it a go and yes i have the crossover cable connected from the xbox to the lappy and the lappy has a belkin card in it to connect to the router.

still havin trouble connecting to xbox live how do i bridge connections hhhhelp.

ok m8. open your network connections and you will see 2 connections. 1 is your LAN connection( local area connection), and the other is your wireless 1. do not touch the LAN 1. Right click on the wireless 1 and select properties. this will open up a new window and you will see 3 tabs along the top of it. select the advanced tab and in there you will see an option to share the internet connection (ics). check this box and exit all the way out. now connect the ethernet (not crossover) cable from the ethernet port on your laptop to the 1 on the xbox and that should be it. :proud:

in my network connections i have 3 things one says 1394 connection the second says local area connection and the other is the belkin card connection, in any of them there isnt anything that says share connection help please

Ignore the 1394 one,
You need to highlight the other two connections, at the same time, and then right click on one of them and the option will be there then.

Hi, have highlighted the local area connection and the belkin connection right clicked it and it brought up bridged connection so clicked that and the message box came up saying "to create a network bridge you must select at least two LAN or high speed internet connections that are not being used by internet connection sharing"

ok i've bridged the local area connection and the belkin connection but still cant get the xbox connecting

Ok try right clicking on the ethernet connection (not wireless) and select repair.

ok i did that but it didnt repair it so i finally got it somewhere close to workin by putting in the MAC address to the local area connection and the belkin connection but a red cross came up on the belkin but it still connected to xbox live great eh, but yes theres a but lol i could not go on the internet when i double clicked explorer any ideas please?? thanks
