Xbox bannings

Anyone else had their gamer tag banned after playing something early?? A friend of mine got his banned last night after playing fifa online. He changed his tag, signed back in and was able to play online again.

Is this a new deterant by MS to stop people going online or something? What happened to banning of the console, and what do MS think they are to achieve by banning the gamertag. Any thoughts or ideas?

Well I downloaded it, and gave it to him, so it was not the one that needed patching.

I will ask him mate, but I did hear other people off torrentleech have had the gamertag banned, rather than the console, and I didnt think that they were doing it, but then my RL mate said he had been banned, so am not sure now.

some ppl are just so ban jumpy lately live goes down omg i must be banned my connection not working im banned, i for 1 dont care ban or not for what i get a hell of a lot cheap games its just a buy another & shove my hard drive on it
