I have just set this up on my 360 and laptop. I am trying to stream across my network but keep getting errors on the file formats. Now I remember talking about an xvid codec. Do I need this? If so, where can I get this from.

Also if this fails, what is the best format to convert my files to, to be able to stream them across my network. Thanks in advance.

Yes mate, I can see all the stuff off my computer, but as soon as I try something it says it needs a codec, files are prison break episodes if that helps. lol. 720 version if that makes any difference.

l made a short avi film that plays on mine ok .. test this

says u havnt been online on your xbox profile ? u have to sign in to download the codec

Sorry to hijack this thread a bit but is there no other way to get the codec i.e.maybe download to comp and transfer to pen drive then transfer to xbox?

Just wondering as have been trying to play avi's and it tells me i need to download an update and dont really want to bring xbox360 downstairs and go through that hassle.
