Seems my Old Man's 360 has the Red Ring, looked at the towel trick but gonna just send back to MS. Anyone know the best number for them.

Cheers

The towel trick will get you a few days/weeks before having to send it back, but your always better sending it back in the long run.

gutted man, just got around to ringing them and MS just told me my console is banned (well this one is my dads) - so im lucking for somwhere to take my 360 to cure the ring of death. Can anyone help?

I've done the towel tricks loads and that doesn't really work, i'm looking for a more perminant solution. Like i said I don't mind taking it somwhere and paying to have this sorted.

Cheers as always for help

the x-clamp fix is very easy and cheap to do yourself cost you about £8-10 to fix it

fixed my red ring on mine about a month ago

just replace thermal compound, then replace the x-clamp they have on xbox with seom bolts and washers and then over heat for 15 mins and it should be sorted afetr you let it cool for an hour

Mr P

xbox x-clamp fix shows results too

then you need some artic thermal compound too which is about £3 online plus del

the guy i bought mine off gave a free instruction manual with his on how to do it

Best thing to do is to try and find the receipt, then bring it back to the place where you bought it.
They'll replace it on the spot, and send the old one back to microsoft.
While you walk out with a brand new Xbox.
Happens in Dublin Anyway, i know that for sure.

i have done that myself too with pcworld - 3 times with other peoples consoles that have been flashed
