Hi all

Looking to buy a Kodi TV box but as I'm quite new to this I thought I would ask the experts.

Don't want to spend a lot but do want a good picture for movies and football (HD).

So....

See Loads on fleBay any suggestions???

Please :)

avoid fleabay at all cost, my moto, buy cheap buy twice ......

buy a decent box from a proper supplier ......

google entertainment box and follow easy peasy instructions , any probs there will be plenty of peeps on here to help you out ;)

To be honest after all the Football glitching and no links this afternoon on my Firebox, I would stick with a pc for Kodi

Your cheapest option would be a fire stick for £35. These run on android lollipop os.
If you're going to buy a box make sure it has Lollipop android OS at the least. Make sure it comes with OTA firmware update. If you want to spend more money I would buy the minix neo u1. The reviews look really good and the manufacturers have a forum for users which is full of information about their devices and updates. The specs look good on this box but not as good as the Nvidia shield but it is about £60 cheaper. If you just want to run Kodi and nothing else, kodi runs a lot better on windows os. But I've not really researched Windows devices. But before you buy anything make sure you have done some research and read the reviews. There's also Linux to look at as well.

Could not agree more Ratts, have got ASRock Beeboxs here, so much better than crappy android boxes, stick Openelec on them & then just add want you want, All done in no more than 30 mins, while pissing about with fire stick with ADB can take hours if you get a stick that is stubborn!!!

If you want cheap and simply to set up with kodi and a build with about twenty odd of the best addons, that takes about half hour max to set-up. I would definitely recommend a firstick. That's why they are so popular. If you've got over £100 to spend go for something pc based like calisto recommended. I run kodi on a laptop as backup but I also use android devices because I use alot of other android apps. If I didn't I would probably buy pc based machine and use openelec. But its all down to personal preference and I did notice in your post you did not want to spend a lot of money. Hopefully someone will recommend something cheaper and easier to setup than I firestick.

google wetek openelec.

OpenElec is a stand alone version of Kodi which is highly thought of.

Wetek make some really good boxes and are official sponsers of both Kodi and openelec, so you are always going to get supperb support.

Wetek do a few boxes some have built in tuners and the software to enable CS so you get the best of all worlds

Raspberry PI 3

Quad core
1 gig ram
4 usb
Wifi and Ethernet

SD card slot

£32 but youll need a power supply the mini usb type and a case for it couple on quid on ebay.

Very fast little kodi box.

I use a RaspberryPi 2 for Kodi on OSMC. It runs okay but I haven't got a decent add-on for football streams. I was using Pheonix but that doesn't seem to have any feeds now.

Thanks for all you suggestions and help much apprecited.
Been having a play with a hudl the wife didn't use and have got that going using kodi just waiting for the small hdmi to arrive to plug it into the tv.
Think I might have a look at the raspberry
