I was going to make a tutorial on kodi for the total beginner a couple of weeks ago and while looking for the links to go with the tutorial, I came across so many excellent tutorials and videos already made on line that I gave up.

But I still think a step by step tutorial would be of use to some so here is a link to an excellent tutorial that I came across this morning.

Code:
You don't have permission to view the code content. Log in or register now.

Code:
You don't have permission to view the code content. Log in or register now.

This is an excellent video tutorial for next step or next phase of the Kodi guide.

But there is no point even looking at this video if you haven’t gone through the first post and spent time using and experimenting with Kodi for at least a few days before you move on to this one.

This video will show you how to install 4 of the most important repositories available.

Code:
You don't have permission to view the code content. Log in or register now.

Once these 4 repositories are installed you will have every single add-on that you could possibly need.

Step 3

Tutorial How to Install the Community Portal for Kodi

Community Portal is an add-on that allows you to search for and install any Kodi add-on. Whenever a new add-on is released the devs add it and try to keep it as up-to-date as possible.

Code:
You don't have permission to view the code content. Log in or register now.

4th stage of Kodi

After you’ve mastered the 3 posts above if you still want more out of Kodi then this will be the next step.

But you will need a good few weeks if not months before moving on to this stage

Kodi has a client built straight into it called PVR IPTV Simple Client that allows you to setup live TV on Kodi easily.

By adding a URL link to a M3U file or pointing it to a locally stored file you can have access in no time.

Alternatively if you can’t be bothered or don’t have the patience to deal with all the reading that is involved with the above posts.

Then the answer is install a wizard that will take care of all the above.

But which Wizard you might say?

Well, the answer is simple, just click the link below

What is the best Wizard to use in Kodi?

In case you were wondering this is what “Tosh” looks like with the retro skin which can easily be changed

Thats not nearly 1% of it and you know it.
Theres far more crap that doesnt't work than does.
Trouble is you dont try it all out you just post it.

I have to admit this is true, I only use genesis and nothing else
It has everything I need; even that first picture of the new episode of the walking dead is from there

SALTS is as good as Genesis and also has Trakt integration

I prefer The Mutts Nuts when in hotels as I just go back from Llandudno I would have posted the pics by the way but had a phone cam malfunction very windy up the great Orme yesterday

the mutts nuts does for me movie night was first choice but has stopped working past week

only wizard that i half liked was premium lite which was not half as big as the rest

still bloated though

I am fairly new to streaming tv using kodi although I have been using XBMC/Kodi as a media centre for years. I used a wizard to download everything then gradually uninstalled all the add ons I didn't like or didn't work. I am only really interested in watching movies and have found the mutts nuts and yiffy to work well, many of the others keep giving me errors.

I was also interested in the live UK tv as an option for the future as I live in southern Spain so we can't receive the UK spot beam and rely on I907 at the moment. The quality isn't great and you have to endure the Filmon logo in the corner!

Personally, I prefer the Now tv box which gives live itv/bbc/channel 4 etc and is much easier to use.

This is from another good wizard "Mucky duck"

Ok do you use it?
Have you tried it?
It comes with the mucky duck repo as an option if you want it
Whats feedback aprt from you say it's good or is that just a copy paste from where you got it from?
I have seen it but steer well clear of wizards (And witches lol) as you know.

these builds may not be great to run on fire stick
can use up most memory also userdata needs cleaned regular as can get big if ignored
best option just install what you need no more no less

I installed it, tried it, and posted it.

Don't forget this post is for total beginners and as such I think as I've said before; a wizard is a good introduction to Kodi

I'll be trying the "black box" next.

That is if you don't have any objections

I trust this pic will prove that I installed it, look at the date and time

I've been using BlackBox on 2 fire sticks for a couple of months now.

Works very very nicely and not noticed any slow down on them.
