Hey guys

I was reading something about finding an optimal MTU to mitigate packet loss.
However my router doesn't have a setting for MTU but does have one for MSU.
Is this the value I should just go ahead and manipulate?
My ISP is sky, but their router is pants so I've plugged in an old TalkTalk Huawei HG633

Cheers

MSU is possibly Maximum Send Unit and MTU is Maximum Transmission Unit. It could be terminology used when talking about different network layers or just some English translation different due to the nationality of the firmware writers.

It sounds like it could be the same thing, and if by default it was 1500, it probably is.

It is complicated stuff though:

Cheers for the reply bud.
Yeah I read that article but couldn't get my head around it.
The max mru that my router let's me set is 1492 :S
Makes me think its not the same thing. But then, where the msu option? :S

All routers I've come across have an MTU (maximum transmission unit) setting, it's usually 1500 and no normal need to change this value
