WiFi Can't scan timers

Hi

I bought a cheap Chinese WiFi timer socket but after installing the app it could not locate timer on the Lan. I got a replacement and still same. I have also bought a Chinese WiFi doorbell camera thingy which also will not configure to connect.

I'm thinking they can't all be faulty so is it possible that some setting in my router is preventing it?

You probably already looked but is there a pair button on the socket? Probably a long press on the on/off?

There is yes but doesn't seem to work. You install app on phone and then in the app go to add device and enter WiFi key. It is then supposed to find timer but doesn't

If you hold it down for 10 secs, does it change color or blink/flash?

Seems to be that it does not support wpa2 encryption. Changed router to wpa-auto and it now finds it
