What operating system?

Do you know if it is being assigned an IP address? Do you use DHCP or static IP addresses?

Wired or wireless?

Is the IP address one which is in the range or your network? (192.168... instead of 169... something?).

If you didn't set IP addresses manually and your other computers are working then I think your router DHCP is working.

Have you set this bit up:

Code:
You don't have permission to view the code content. Log in or register now.

From a dos command prompt, type "ipconfig" and under the wireless section, you'll get three IP addresses. Ignore the subnet 255.255.255.0. The main ones are you have an IP4 address and an IP address in default gateway.

if you also use nslookup (again from dos prompt), you should get same IP address as mentioned in default gateway. After using this command you have to type "exit" to exit nslookup.

Normally in all cases IP address should begin with 192.168.x.x (except subnet mask).

windows could of installed the wrong driver as well

check here and download the correct driver for you laptop

Code:

Also try using Ethernet cable if available and you can then download the correct wifi drivers.

Win 7 should have internet connection as soon you put network cable in.

Than go to device manager and manualy update driver for your wireless card, it should work.

all sorted now just did reinstalled again and went in fine must have done something wrong on first reinstall
