hi guys ..my wireless router is upstairs , my dell 1320c laser printer is upsatirs as well, ive connected the printer to a spare ethernet port on the back of my wireless router...i can get into dell printer settings by typing 192.168.1.69...now im sitting downastirs with my laptop and want the printer to print something..how do i do that ? do i need additional wirless adaptor....?..ta

Did you set up the printers network settings? If so it should show up in "printers and devices" on your laptop, although it may require you to install drivers on your laptop

You shouldn't need to do anything in the "Sharing" tab, once your pc can see it then it should work, and your router can already see it as you have it hardwired through Ethernet

Click on the "Ports"tab and see if it has been assigned an IP address,if not you will need to go into the printers onboard options and set it up,

Once it has an IP address you should then be able to print

ok thanks but i didnt realise my top spec asus wireless router had the wirless printer function built in ..DOH ! ..followed this and all is working guys..thanks for the help anyway appreciate it...
