I hope someone can help me here.
I have a setup where my internet gateway is a 4G modem/wifi router (Alcatel Y800- supplied by ISP)- but its wifi coverage is a bit naff, so I have connected it (via USB) to an Asus router (RT-N66U) which gives me 4 ethernet ports and far better wifi.
It all works fine, but the Alcatel needs re-booting from time to time and it would be handy to be able to access its GUI whilst I am connected to the Asus router.
I've set the Alcatel's local IP is 192.168.0.1, the Asus' to 182.168.0.100. The only other setting I have altered is setting the DHCP pools so that there are no overlaps.
When I'm connected to the Asus router, typing in 192.168.0.1 just returns 'page not available' but I can access it fine if I change to the Alcatel's own wifi network. But sometimes this isn't practical.
I thought port forwarding might do the trick, but it appears to me that it only works from the WAN side- but what di I know? That's why I'm asking!
TIA.
