I picked up a free Dell Inspiron 1300 free of a friend for the kids but the WiFi is low or can randomly drop out. I've already spent and upgraded the ram to 2gb but now I need to sort out this problem.
After as bit of research it seems it's to do with the Dell wireless WLAN 1370 wifi card they used and Dell eventually upgraded the wifi board due to more than likely this problem.
Is there a newer better board I can swap in like for like and improve the wifi ?. Any links to the item would be great.

thanks pob , in your opinion which one should I go for out of those ?

TBH I've no preference.

Worth nothing that, the 1470 shares the same drivers as the 1370. I highlight this because if it's a hardware problem with the 1370, the 1470 should give maximum compatibility. However, if the problem is with the drivers for that range, the Intel would be the one to go for (but make sure that drivers are still available for download before buying).

Yes save yourself a load of extra hassle and expense and get a usb wifi adapter they can be purchased on fleabay for under £5

Also there are wifi adaptorsvavailable from the DW shop.
