My friend has a Draytek 2380n Vigor Router, he has two ISP broadbands coming into this property.

Sky Unlimited and Virgin Broadband.

He gets 100mb from virgin (going up to 150MB soon), and he gets the free Sky Unlimited (11MB not bad for ADSL).

I posted the guide about using SKY on another Router here:
https://www.digitalworldz.co.uk/wir...-213/405099-sky-router-password-username.html

I used that guide to get the username and password out of his Sky Hub (SR102).

So we have the following setup:

WAN1 = SKY ADSL
WAN2 = VIRGIN MEDIA BROADBAND

I have setup the load balance policy identically for both WAN1 and WAN2.

This does seem to work, as I can get 110MB (ish) from the broadband speed check websites.

However I am find that his internet can be intermittent at times and drops (hangs on page loading).

QUESTIONS FOR THE GURUS:

1) Is there an optimum policy setting or guide for LOAD BALANCING with Two ISPS ?

2) Has anyone done something similar before and have some suggestions?

My mate is happy to be fair, when its working it is great it just seems to be sometimes it kinda goes down, and in theory one internet could go out for a few minutes but both virgin and sky...

I have a feeling this is deffo a hardware thing/

Cheers

Draytek does suffer from interface overload on occasion. I would set up a syslog system so you can better see what's going on - the Draytek will send log messages to a monitor system. It should be obvious within the interface but if not I'll dig out some notes.

Good idea, I will do that on Monday / Tuesday next week and see what's happening
