Connecting wii to echolife router

My m8 has just joined talk talk and has after 2 hours and on the phone to em got his laptop connected too it but now he's having probs connecting his wii as it shows up on his wii but keeps asking for the secure password even though he aint set it,i would of thought it was open but it shows up on the wii with a padlock next too it and asks for the password.... any ideas its an echolife router that they give away free

It's probably asking for the security password he's set up for the wireless connection, and depending on what encryption he is using, depends on how easy it is to enter, WEP= HEX characters that need to be entered exactly, WAP = More secure and needs a pass phrase ie "letmein"
This will have been set in the routers wireless configuration page, and if he didn't set it and doesn't know what it is he can change it from there.
