Chaps been ages and that since i done a wii, followed ballys guide, was mint once i got me head around it, just looking at this new "letterbomb" that's out, just a question if i can, can you play games from disc, i know this is a silly question and it'd be beneficial for a HDD to be attached to the wii, (with all the iso's like a jtag'd xbox 360 etc.) and i know you had to stop it from accepting game updates etc and make sure you didn't load the new dashboard (sorry what ever it's called on the wii!)

I know you had to go into the "homebrew" channel and that once the wii was flashed to use the disks etc, just wondering is it really as easy as what the tut is making it out to be?

Ta.

hi m8 no expert here but if you follow ballys tut from page 18 you will soft mod you will, you will beable to load games from normal disk channel without it updating, and you can configure a hard drive but i haven'y dont that bit, but softmoding and running from disk work perfect :) good luck m8

PS: console mods pull your fingers out :)

Thanks napster mate, page 18 suggests that you all ready have your nand backed up? says "that's home brew installed and you have backed up your nand" ?

The tut's clear and i remember it now (me thinks) just wondering if it's another page rather than 18, that's why when i started to read about the "letterbomb" technique i got exctited..lol.....

all letterbomb does is put homebrew channel and boot mii on, unless its changed in last couple of months, the rest i had to download and follow from page 18.

Thanks then bud, if i get me hands on a "Wii" then i'll do as you say and follow it from page 18, (i was just puzzled over the bit at the top of that page where it says "back up your nand" etc) thanks again mate

sorry m8 my fault, once you have downloaded letter bomb from HERE follow the tut from page 11, but if you allready have homebrew channel on and have backed up you wii follow from page 18. :)

(A Virgin Wii) get letterbomb then follow from page 11 :)

ah that makes sense now then Napster.........cheers.....

i have never used that letterbomb,

i have always used and had success with modmii available here: h**p://gbatemp.net/topic/207126-modmii-for-windows/

How to mod your Wii

Run ModMii, from the Main Menu enter "W" to start the ModMii Wizard
Answer the questions ModMii asks about your Wii, it's very simple, so I won't even go into the details, but here's a video tutorial made by Pepxl based on v4.0.1. Later versions work much in the same way, so its still a great tutorial even if you are using a newer version.
Wait until the program is done working, verify that all the files downloaded successfully, then (if you didn't change the drive letter to your SD card) locate the newly created folder called "COPY_TO_SD". Copy everything inside this folder to the root of your SD card (merge folders if it asks).
Now just follow the generated guide.

if you use modmii now, there is an option for letterbomb.

it links you to it and writes the tut and files for you.

i used it 2 weeks ago and tbh it could not be any easier... :)

its a great piece of kit....

just remember letterbomb is for 4.3 wii's only....

cheers buzzer never knew about letter bomb being in modmii, not updated a wii for over 6 months, but now i know.

in fact, i might update mine today and see whats new.

I'm thinking i might ask the woman at work if they'll bring there machines in so i can have a play and get my "Wii" skills back up to scratch......been well over a year if not longer since i done one....

i know what you mean m8, i only new what i told you because i was forced into it by my 6 year old updating our wii to 4.3 so i had not choice, i last looked at it like you nearly 2 years ago, older you get the harder it is to remember.

well if you's are wanting a playaround there is a new update for wii's called "D2X v7 cios pack"

this is the next generation of cios, this is meant to do away with the need for sd cards in wii and also put save files and custom channels onto your harddrive rather than using the wii memory.

it doesn't seem to fix the issues with the driver or tin tin games ,
so im leaving mine for now until i understand a little more about it lol
