as for the play 2 e2 will come for sure, ill buy one at that point.
The original play is underrated in my opinion and should be more popualr. If you have time to play around and set it up correctly it is a very capable box at a realistic price that can run genuine Kodi.
Just seen the OpenElec version with tuner on ebay for £89 mate.

I have the Openelec version, and they too have pulled it. There must be a surplus somewhere, or maybe they have upgraded the old boxes.
Tell you what, I can't fault it. I have the the Powerboard image pbnigma 5.3, with kodi and estuary skin built in. It runs seamlessly, blows all the other sat boxes out of the water that I have had in the past.
Only slight niggle is when using the original openelec remote, navigaiting the boquets does not behave as other Enigma 2 images.
I would buy the Play 2 right now if it had an Enigma 2 image, android TV just does not cut it for me, its like a big step back, and apparently the hardware is not a massive step up from the Play 1, so probably would not notice the difference between Play 1 and Play 2, apart from maybe when running kodi.
Wetek say that they are not interested in Enigma 2 on the Play 2, I think its to do with the fact that they are an official supporter of kodi and have to keep up there allegiance.
Is there any sat boxes that run kodi the same (not kodi direct)?

Vu+ Solo 2 Duo 2 loads will run Native Kodi but they come at a price.
If the Play 2 does not go E2 i can see it been a flop.
Yeah, let me know, although I just bit the bullet and bought a Wetek Play 2, £120 delivered, lets hope Enigma 2 evolves :drink:
The reason I dont use E2 is the way I understand it you are either in E2 or Kodi not both together, so that means that I cant watch a movie on Kodi while recording something else, or my daughter cant watch Nick Jr in her room while I use Kodi.
For my uses OpenElec with TVHeadend works perfectly
In some images it just a matter of starting Kodi from within the E2 plugin menu. Im not sure if in kodi with it been a plugin the recording would not work ive never tried it tbh.
My preference in PBnigma. Ive also used OpenElec with the TV headend but with a motorised dish setup covering 30 sats or so its a pain in the ass.
+1 for me, once the lip sync on kodi was sorted a couple of months ago, that has been the best image I have tried. Must admit though, I have not recorded TV while using kodi so not sure if it works.
I bought the Wetek from deej01, and just wanted to say the Wetek was just like brand new!

had one with cable tuners on it have to say the best cable tuner box i ever had no issue with signal strenght unlike the edison which glitche a lot and nothing to do with you know what
