Wetek, is it worth it?

Yesterday I could watch all the derby match, using my WeTek, Samsung TV and Sound System, on Android+Kodi+IPTV add-on... really great, much better then my friends with cable operator service!! jajaja

So, i received mine wetek yesterday.

Till now, i just worked on android.

updated it with the latest development build that i saw on their official forum

wetek theater works good.
I had some bugs, but theres nothing to pannic.

used kodi, tried some addons, Iptv lists, and worked fine.
very smooth.

the android is clean and has some good things to use.
installed spotify, and some games from play store.
nothing to say, worked :D

Today, i'm going to try openelec with tvheadend to see how it is.

For now i think i made a great choice.

So after a few days playing with openelec i can have my final review

well i isntalled the openelec 5.0.8 from the wetek forums.

Enabled the tvheadend addons and the party started.

For the 1st time it's a bit confusing to start working with tvheadend, but i watched some videos on the internet and i finally managed to set up my cable.

Live TV, the switch betwenn the channels is 1-2 seconds (not bad)
the quality of the image is very good
HD channels worked perfectly.
I've recorded channels, i tried timeshift, set a record on epg,..
everything worked!!!

Installed some addons like genesis, pulsar, navi x, xbmctorrent, and i was able to watch 1080p movies just like that,

just the initial buffer (connect to the services) and the movies played well.

So, the only thing i noticed, android... it needs some tweaks :p

Do i advice people to buy this?
YES

I have a raspi, and i just watched iptv with some m3u lists and things like that,
Now, with wetek, i can stream my tv to the raspi, and this way i have a ALL in One entertainment system at my place!

@ agrafo did you buy a cable version and did you have any issues setting it up

Thank you for this great info .. this box is great dvb and Kodi(xbmc) at the same time thats what i am looking for

I'm very happy with it!

I'm on OE 5.95 official realease and using the latest android update.

good support :D

There needs to be a better method of channel sorting and favourites listing. The new version of Dreamset has too many bugs and any transferred channel lists are all over the place. Same goes for the OpenELEC TvHeadend side the channel organisation is limited and very time consuming . A newbie could go bald or through the menopause before they get anywhere.

Working for the 1st time with TVh can be painfull

But after watching some videos, everything went well

I'm going to try vdr, it seems official form OE.

About dreamset.

I used the beta 5, no probs till now.

Only had the box for 7hrs so forgive me if i have this wrong but Dreamset is for the Android only side or do i have that wrong ?

The E2 to TV Headend converter is well lets say very experimental :proud:

Yes, i used dreamset for android just to make some tests.

For TVH, now, there are "some backups" that users made with Astra, Hispasat, hotbird...

And the "newbie" can use them, like a wizard.

E22TVH, meh, could be and has to be better in some points.
I Agree with you

Dreamset Beta 7 transferred over my enigma 2 bouquets to Wetek theater perfectly.
