trying to get oscam working on a vu uno with vix image without any success before i buy 4k
can someone who has done it talk me through it step 1 step 2 etc
Thanks

Its been covered a good few times around may forums. You would load the image and hopefully it will allow you to download the latest version from the plugins menu. If it does not then I would install linuxsat panel and download oscam from that plugin. You need to use cccamtooscam convertor. Input you server line and convert it. Now dependent on version of oscam you have downloaded you may be able to get into the webif. You would do this by yourboxip:8888 or what ever the webif config reads as. If you could get into this then you would open the webif and click on files and then oscam.server. Input the details from cccamtosocam into the server file and save. Restart the cam and it should clear the channels. If you cannot get into the webif you will need the oscam basic configs and ftp them to var/tuxbox/config. Then open oscam.server and paste the same bits out of oscamtocccam.

where would i find the basic configs as 8888 with ip dont work

Id expect that if you downloaded the cam from the feeds within the image you would have the correct version for the arm cpu.

You need to edit the server file with your line details

Then send all the files you download 4 to etc/tuxbox/config

Start oscam running Menu/Setup/Softcam / CI/Softcam Manager select oscam and press green to start then blue button to autostart it at reboot.

well another 33 hours solid on it still no where may not have explained that i have a c line and a n line
and what oscam does the vu uno use as there are so many

Think that you may be trying too hard and step back a bit. First question is is this your first box or do you know how to ftp files over to your box? If you have done this before from a fresh install from vix in menu, plugins menu do you have the option of softcams? If so is there an oscam version? If yes download it to your box then send the files that ferrett posted ealier over to your box and put them in var/tuxbox/config. When you have sent them to your box the right click on the oscam.config file and have a look at the text inside the file. Somewhere in the text it will mention webif and give you a port number can you post back and tell us what that is.

yes i have been using cute ftp and file zilla for 20 years or so but there is so much conflicting advice some say edit some say send it blank then get errors no conf file even though i see it in ete tuxbox etc other thing i have edited it them 100's of times rebooted the box hundreds re-installed image from usn at least 30 times been doing this since the day's od D2 mac but this has been a nightmare to the point it's actually made me lose hair as a total of 97 hours on it and to top it all no mention of webif and oscam info show /tmp/ecm.info is in red - show cliemts connections refused that's where i got to know i set the CCCam up in less than 3mins
i have used the 1,2 convertor makes a blank oscam.user but server ok used that but edited the user details with the files ferret sent do i save as txt or what ???????????????? too mny paramters to make it easy

So you seem to know you way around a box so if you have installed afreash and then downloaded the oscam from the vix plugins menu. Send the files over to to your box in var/tuxbox config. Then start the cam from the softcam menu in the vix image. You first need to make sure oscam is running. Once you can get into the webif you know its running then you can send you converted cccam.cfg file over to oscam.server. See if you can get the webif to open.

well thats the furthest i have got :) [webif]httpport = 8888 so whats that them m8

ok so you where used to using cccam well when running ccccam you could check how many card you had access to by typing your box's ip then:16001 well oscam works kind of same so to check its working put your box's ip in then :8888 so exmaple 192.1680.1:8888

If oscam is running you should get into the webif. Once you are in there we know oscam is running and you can easily add you converted cccam line into the oscam server by clicking of files then oscam.server.

See below an example of what the oscam webif looks like.

glad you are sorted. What was the problem.

very conflicting advice and not very well explained a bit like putting a jigsaw together with no picture with important key features missing too many dead ends
