virmin media egg not populating

hi guys got an ultimo with blackhole latest image, im using "rytec virgin UK XMLTV" as my epg provider, ive noticed i dont get no channels listings as to whats on and no epg on any channles and all boquets..ive deleted the cross epg folder, and downloaded epg again, goes through the motion of downloading epg data, but once complete, nothing populates, ive rebooted reciver....is the rytec server down or something ?..has been working perfectly for months until now..any ideas and help ?

If you go the Rytec, he will moan at you for using Cross EPG. Use epg/xmltv importer instead. If there is still a problem, report to him and he will fix.

Alternatively, get the EPG from the signal wire and be independent!

sorry abu could you explain both methods " Use epg/xmltv importer instead." and " get the EPG from the signal wire and be independent!" dont follow..

As Abu said either use the newer epgimporter plugin available from your plugin download section or use epgrefresh again from the plugin download section

There is no need to explain the Rytec method. You have been doing this already with Cross EPG downloader.

For the signal wire method:
Enable Virgin EPG in your EPG menu. Your system will soak the EPG whenever you are on a Cable channel. The EPG data is a trickle speed on all channels and only available until 6 AM the next day.

If you tune in to Virgin Preview (or any other on the same frequency), the data is for 5 days and at superfast speed. You need to stay on the channel for 2 mins to get the data. You can install EPG refresh plugin to automate the zapping process. EPG refresh is not required, it just automates the zapping process. I prefer using the fake record option.

above method doesnt work with blackhole images, probably with vix etc...anyway, i had a backup of an older image , reflashed that and everything is working again, epg populates and works fine..might have been a bug in the newest bh image..thanks anyway guys..
