P.D. You know what happens with Dreamoem?

I emailed with Mfaraj, one of the last real admins of the dreamoem site, but he doesn't have any more info. RamiMaher was not seen at the forum for several months.
Nobody seems to know what happened to Sim2 (the guy behind Sunray/Dreamoem), rumors go he's in jail because of illegal distribution of smartcards for some China porn channels. This took place about a year ago. He's also the guy who arranged and most probably paid for the server hosting.
None of the remaining admins/moderators had direct access to the server which hosted the Dreamoem forum. A guy named Mach is/was the server admin, but I don't have his direct mail address.
I already sent an email to the contact address of the dreamoem.com doamain, but didn't get any answer.

I will try to get the forum back, but I am afraid it's gone for ever...

How do I apply these drivers using this method?
https://www.digitalworldz.co.uk/vu-solo2-sunray-clone-686/429384-download-how-update-drivers.html

Will these work with newest OpenVix 4.2.023?

Drivers do also work with OpenVIX.
- ftp the file vuplus-dvb-proxy-vusolo2-3.13.5-20161228.r0.tar.gz to the /tmp folder of your box
- telnet to you box and use the following command:
- tar -xf /tmp/vuplus-dvb-proxy-vusolo2-3.13.5-20161228.r0.tar.gz -C /lib/modules/3.13.5/extra/
- reboot your box.

My question is.

Did I flash the original image and then do the file change as indicated in my sunray? Or should I do it on a vu solo2 and extract the flash?

Excuse my ignorance, I would like to learn.

Thank you very much

The safest way is to not run original images on your solo2 at all.
You can patch it safely, by disconnecting both antenna cable and network/wifi. But since yo need to be able to telnet/ssh/ftp to your box you need a network connection to your pc. This can be done using static ip addresses on both solo2 and your pc with one utp cable only connecting them both, or make sure no internet is provided at all (disconnect router from modem or disconnect the telephone line).
The timebomb which can destroy your NAND is activated on time base. Make sure it doesn't get any time signal from both the dvb signal or ntp (internet time).

For "vuplus-dvb-proxy-vusolo2-3.13.5-20161228.r0.tar.gz" is understood.
With the file "vuplus-dvb-modules-vusolo2-3.13.5-20161228.tar" is there anything to do?
The dvb-proxy driver is used on images which provide xbmx/kodi like OpenATV, the other one is use for ones that do not, like OpenPli.

In the archive is not the file "cdfs.ko" that if it exists in the destination folder. Does not this need to be changed? All the others if they are and are of the same size but with different date of creation. I will check the date to ensure the change.
The cdfs.ko doesn't need change, just leave it alone.
All dates en file lengths in the dvb-proxy-vusolo2-3.13.5-20161228.r0.tar.gz archive are the same as the original driver archive.
Only the file dvb-bcm7241.ko differs a bit from the original.

What will be the official support forum for sunray receivers? or the sunray support is dead? :rip:

Official sunray support is dead now i'm afraid. Same as other clones these days.

However, this forum will continue providing patched images and thanks to @gjstroom patched drivers as well :)

Any original image can be clone-patched with the modified sunray drivers?

The clone days are over, you can buy a decent non clone box for less than 100 euro's.
Even original DMM boxes are affordable :)
