Yes, from the plugin feeds install the skin openvix blue HD and switch to the skin.

Then, what I personally do next is install the plugin from here (follow here which will make slight modifications to the EPG, install a working mg_cfg file and install picons to the root/box.

This plugin needs to be installed via ftp'ing the ipk file to /tmp/ and installing via telnet or local extension from menu.

Thanks very much. I take it it's similar to installing a skin on the zgemma ?

Last question is there much difference between this image and your 3.2.010 image

Sorry for sounding dumb, but do I just delete the existing ipk file in temp and replace with this one ? And what's telnet ? And which menu is the local extension in

Normally anything in tmp folder isn't kept upon a restart but if there is still an ipk there and it's not my skylooking ipk file then you can delete it if you don't need it anymore.

If you then FTP over the skylookingsetup4vix ipk file to your tmp folder on your box (known as root), then press Menu button on remote and navigate to Setup > Vix > Install local extension. Ensure the skylookingsetup4vix ipk plugin is highlighted and press <Green> button to install it.

You need to have already installed OpenVix BlueHD skin from plugin menu and switched to it.

I keep seeing these Sunray vix images saying "for Sunray solo2 only"

I have been using them on Lonrisun v4 solo2 boxes no problem and they work perfectly well. Why does it say Sunray only please? Thanks in advance.

They are made on and for a Sunray Solo2, if they work on your Lonrisun v4 all well and good :) all the the uploader is saying that this image is specified for this specific receiver
If something changed and it bricked your receiver the uploaded did state for Sunray Solo2 :)

Thanks for the reply Rat. I have noticed today that when flashing older lonrisun solo2's with latest sunray image they will not boot, even when updated to v4. The new lonrisun solo2's take sunray images no problem so they must have changed some hardware.

I can confirm that sunray solo2 images will not work on older lonrison v4 flashed boxes and haven't for a very long time since before introduction of xbmc. I have to do different images modified to work with old lonrison v4 flashed boxes due to old drivers the v4 have.

Some Solo2 SE's have been known to work with Sunray images.

If I get a chance this weekend, I'll upload lonrison v4 version for you :)

How your managing to run the Sunray images on a Lonrison V4 ive no idea unless they have changed to sunray protocols in manufacture of the latest boxes. I did here Lornison had stop making them though.

Sunray images have been known to run on the SE but not the V4 so you are lucky.

Are you sure your box is not a Sunray with the mini usb service port on the rear ?

Definitely lonrisun. I open them all up. No mini service and has lonrisun stickers inside
I get from M.shop after the clone bomb last year I noticed M.shop update the listing saying "no more brick can reflash by bbs tools"
Like I said new ones take every image I've tried but older lonrisun solo2 se even when updated to V4 can only use lonrisun vix image not sunray vix.

@endemall, i've never heard of an actual lonrison with v4 flash accepting sunray images regardless of whether Vix or not.

Newer ones after may work but like Ferret mentioned, I had heard that lonrison stopped producing Solo2's. I think Solo2 SE, etc was released after.

Can you confirm have you ever had an actual Vix sunray image work (rather than lonrison v4 images)?

I've never actually changed how I do Sunray safe images for a very long time now (that I remember) and the drivers in use are same as those used in images by other modern images like ATV.
