OpenVix 012 (for Sunray Solo2 only)

Source Date: 08/06/15
Kernel: 3.13.5
Drivers: 11/05/15 (patched)

OpenVix uses Gstreamer 1.4.5 which will give better DivX and IPTV stream playback.

Online updating is possible, but keep in mind future driver releases/updates may harm your box. This image has the driver version patch and drivers write-protected. Any updates done are at your own risk!

Credit goes to Sim2/Sunray team for their continued support.

This image has only been tested on Sunray Solo2 clones. Use on any other clones may result in a bricked box. Use at your own risk!

Seems to be a bug with Hades 012 running mgcamd 1.38, the process seems to need manual restarting randomly (Blue button on remote, 2 Softcam manager, Yellow button = restart).

Has been happening on my original Solo 2, and my 2 Sunray clones running Ketmp's patched image.

It has been raised on the OpenVix forum, hopefully they'll fix it sooner rather than later.

Has it been confirmed its an image issue or could it be your cfg setup ?

One feature that can cause mgcamd to stop working is the logging feature disable it if it is not.

And do you have the KEEP ALIVE option enabled ?

CWS_KEEPALIVE = 600

I suspect its an image issue.

After doing a clean install on my original or clone Solo 2, I go to Plugins --> Softcams and then download/install mgcamd 1.38.

After which I go into the Softcam manager and enable automatic running of mgcamd 1.38 along with putting an appropriate config file in the var/keys folder.

It's the same process I've been doing for the last..... 12-18 months, all of which have been fine up until the last revision or so of Hades.

Of course, am open to advice just incase I am doing something silly wrong :)

A member on the OpenVix forum highlighted the issue before I did, as soon as I read his description it was identical my own.

If you are watching a scrambled channel, how long, would you say, it is before you would have to manually restart mgcamd?

On my clean install of 12 (and images before that to be honest), I've not had to manually restart the softcam.

I have 4 boxes deployed, 1 original solo 2, and 3 Sunray Solo 2 clones (1 is owned by a neighbour), all of which have Hades 012 installed.

On my original Solo 2 the problem has happened on this box I would say very randomly, ie. twice since installation some 2 weeks ago.

On my own Solo 2 clones it has not happened to (yet) - but they are both located in very low usage areas, but my neighbours Solo 2 clone it is happening on a very regular basis.

There are a couple of differences between the setup of my boxes and my neighbours.

On my boxes I have twin sat feeds going into the box, and they all have a hard-drive installed.

My neighbours box has a single feed going in, and is using a USB stick as storage medium.

On all of the boxes which this issue has affected, a restart of the softcam will resolve it until the next time, which will be anywhere between an hour and a week.

I've never noticed this problem on my setup.

I do a clean flash (with NO restore of settings) and then setup abm, epg and copy over mgcamd config file and install, via the feeds, mgcamd 1.38 and bluehd skin. I install no other plugins though.

I have it setup as twin sat feed with internal hdd and connected to internet via ethernet.

Can I suggest you try the above on any of your problem boxes. I don't do any other changes with regards to mgcamd apart from start it and then once started enable the autostart.

My working mg_cfg is here.

I assume no other plugins are installed and it's connected via ethernet as problem could be anything so it's case of narrowing it down.

Lots of people use softcams whether that be oscam, cccam or mgcamd so I would expect many more reporting a problem.

Hi Ketmp,

My config and setup is almost identical to yours, clean flash along with mgcamd 1.38 installed from feeds, along with BlueHD skin... and RAT's channel list and picon plugins.

I'll wait for a Hades 014 image from yourself, and do a clean flash on my clones, and do a clean flash from the OpenVix support website.

@vatovey,

Did you know @Rat does upload his own DW backups (including sky look) for a few main images including openVix if you haven't already tried that. Rat does use cccam though.

Strange thing happened. I turned on debug logging to see if I could see any errors and issue seemed to have resolved itself :) Not sure what turning on debug logging did but I'm glad it works now :)

Well done that is the opposite of what most users find.

kinda resolved this, I installed and configured the box to use CCam instead, seems to work fine now :)
