Can i rename the box

Hi

I'm running a VU+solo2 connected to s VM superhub, if I look at connected devices in modem it says vusolo2 and we all know VM can see what's connected and what you download, my question is there anyway I can go on solo2 and rename it to say games console so VM cant see the truth

i think this is what your looking for.


go to setup/system/network/device manager/mount manager/change hostname

you may need to restart both box and router for changes to take effect.

That option may not be available in all images or could differ image-by-image.

If there is no option then it would mean editing a file to overide the hostname.

Try what Kryton posted first.

Also, ensure you make a full image backup first

glad you mentioned it to be honest, im switchin my tuners to cable soon and i wouldnt of gave that a thought.
