Could someone assist me in trying to get Kodi 17 loaded onto a VU Solo2 box there is backup images about that have it but as the box is not mine the user is getting himself into some issues due to the fact that some of the plugins are not what you would call working and locking up the box and causing me no end of trouble. He would like a few plugins and the first being getting Kodi loaded. So if someone on hear could help it would be a good start.:Mad2:

On other images if you go into plugins then extensions then look for vuplus kodi it may be there. I never thought of it being called that until someone told me.

Had a look in the plugins and the only thing there is xbmcaddons 6.0 r0 and that's your lot I suspect I will have to add it manually but cant find it.

You could flash an image that has it in. I have not seen an ipk to install it manually, they are all apk files and simply changing the end extension form apk to ipk does not work.

I Have downloaded the latest Vix Image and had a look in the plugins there is three files Kodidirect, XBMC addons and VUPlus Kodi which of these is required I am about to try VUplus Kodi and will see what happens.

Vuplus kodi is the full blown version.

it must image depentdent as i downloaded the same file but whilst using openspa image and it is kodi 17.

So are you saying that the build for Kodi has to have the Image built to accept the version of Kodi. I assumed that as they had Linux that a Linux program could be installed, not having much experience of Linux I accept that I have misunderstood this.

I am not sure on the answer to this, but I know I have not seen a way to manually install the latest version of kodi. I said perviously that when I have downloaded kodi for linux before it downloads as an apk file. Enigma 2 used ipk files. So unless you find a ipk file with the latest version of kodi that you can send to the box to instally manually or find the correct line of code to type onto a telnet session then it would be easier to install an imaage that already has in it what you want. Others more experienced with linux might have other options though.
