This appears to be basically the same as the clone - Solo 2 SE. Which is obviously based on Vu Solo 2 but without front display.

Been getting emails a good while about this box i just delete them now its just a rebrand as speaking for me self i won,t be promoteing any of this crap anymore as its well worth your while to buy an original box these days with all the work image teams a putting in kodi etc if you can afford to but would never knock if this is the best option for you as i once own a clone me self.

As the saying goes fool me once shame on you fool me twice shame on me ,

It's if there is any long-term support.

Clone manufacturers have a habit of not being around for long. Sim2/Sunray was longest lasting (that I know of) but even they, at this moment, aren't on the scene anymore.

Saying that, at this moment, there is a price difference of around £100 GBP between this clone and an original.

I,d say they rip-off sim2s firmware and are installing it by default in the factory before been sent out .

As you know the sim2 factory was turned over by the rozzers before xmas and the only way we find out when new drivers come out which has been 5 months now Vu+ i think they are up to something to see whats going on, are they still about after raid .

100 pounds understand as some people just won,t pay silly money for a box just to watch tv .

Just saying prices have come down different makes and model theres value for your money out there now does,nt have to be vu+ and hopefully other brands will see vu+ have release kodi so with a bit of luck they have to respond to this and bring kodi out also if possible .

My advice is similar to yours dubliner. Just dont buy clones at this moment in time as thing are kicking off against the cloners. The clone crews only worry about profit when the profit stops by been closed down or the models they are cloning are no longer selling then they dont worry about their customers anymore there gone.

There are cheap genuinely supported boxes out there.

Which box is best to go for then

If you just want a cheap box it has to be the Zgemma I guess being best around with decent image support etc but I guess it's what you want to spend..

That box is on fleabay for £142ish which is taking the pish really considering a genuine SE v2 twin tuner is around £160ish.
Do they really think people will buy a clone at that price!

Zgemma is the king of budget boxes. Gigablue have some very good boxes in there range ive a feeling ill be taking one out of there range soon.

Other budget boxes

VU Zero
Spycat E2

Yep after I have brought used and sold just about every box on the market I have stuck with a couple of Zgemma boxes and a solo se as I realised that at the end of the day they all no matter the price some go fast some are slow but put a great picture on your telly...

I like the look of the VU Zero what's the image support like I'm a pli user and would like to stick with that (pli and zgemma not very good support)

Napster, Gigablue isn't supported by Pli if that's the image you like.

Also no internal hdd support on the lower priced boxes. Probably looking around £150+ if you want a box that can support internal hdd (without hdd).

UPDATE: VU Zero also doesn't support internal hdd

I like the Wetek boxes, so much you can do with them Android, Enigma 2, OpenElec. Loads of support out there

Me too mate but they are not without bugs, id only recommend them to those who like to play and sort out little gremlins along the way.

Maybe over time Wetek would be more reliable as more and more use it and report the bugs to the image teams so they can sort them!

There have a great relationship with the image teams and those teams are fully aware of the bugs although wetek are a little slow producing drivers for the teams. Wetek never intended to go the E2 route it came with customer pressure so they are still catching up.

Bags of potential in the wetek range that is for sure.

One of the big things with the wetek box is to decide on priorities.

If you are looking for a standard Sat box then use E2 image - which is what most people will want.

But there is another option if you watch a lot of streamed content that is to use OpenElec, the advantage here is that TVHeadend is always running so even when you are watching shows on Kodi, other Kodi boxes around the home will still be able to use the tuners in the wetek box and watch live TV, and you will still be able to record. For me this is a better solution but more fidley to set up

The blackhole team Released tv heads betas ipks for vu+ boxes before xmas had them working on solo2 gotham 13.2 at the time very buggy hav,nt checked on 16.1 waiting for images to go live try again .

Napster whats your needs viewing wise have you look at the TM-Nano 2 super on wos site 149 now was 229 supports vix atv [4D team i think is base on openpli]

If its kodi solo se v2 or wetek would be my choice .

I have had a couple of these unfortunatly they are not as good as the old solo2 clones.
Fan is noisy
Bright blue Led is pretty annoying
No front display
Crap remote

However it does run the latest sunray images so you get a twin tuner box that can run Kodi cheap and has internal HDD support.
Id pay the extra and buy an original solo2 though unless you really need to save the pennies

Sunray don,t make boxes anymore from what i,ve read could be wrong .

Above box will just piggy back sim2 images as never version of Solo se clone does .

Just installed vu zero and android box for friend cost him 180 euro all in he just has to chosse hdmi 1 or hdmi 2 he,s well happy with this setup .

As i was saying there different setups regardless what cost still does the trick.
