Hi, I currently have a zgemma star s2 and was wanting to upgrade. Some suggested the Sunray vu solo 2. Is this a worthy upgrade or is it worth paying the extra and getting a genuine one ?

many thanks

It really depends on what you prefer and how much price difference is between original solo2 and sunray solo2. Last I looked there was about £70-80 difference between original and sunray version.

Sunray, via some chinese website, offer 2 years warranty and sunray are constantly releasing image updates and patched drivers although some later sunray's can run original images anyhow (mine does).

Problem lies if you are unlucky to have a problem. Chinese sites normally ask you to send board back at your cost and obviously then wait for a new one to be sent.

The U.K. Site where I bought my zgemma from sells them and were very good on the customer service side. Is there much difference performance wise between the clone and the genuine. Price difference was bang in the middle at £75

Hugh difference in performance look at the specs side by side on both boxes.

The solo2 will feel a lot fast in operation the the current range of zgemma boxes.

Thanks for the info guys, decided to go with the genuine one in the end, hoping I can get a download of 3.2.10 which is the image I'm using on my zgemma with the bonus of the grouping of the same recordings in the file list. Will that work with the genuine image ?

3.2.15 is out now use that.

Where are your recording stored on a external hdd ?

Well you can use that on the solo2 yeah just mount the drive nothing else and the recordings will be there.
