Strange Problem with sunray solo2 and which image ready for CI+

Hallo,

my name is Rainer and I live in Germany. Recently I bought a sunray solo2, because I nedd it for Sky Germany and it should be ready for a CI+ module, where the card is in (here in Germany we have V14 Videogard /NDS cards).
Because of pairing here in Germany it will soon not be possible to watch sky without restrictions.

I tested several images like Openatv 5.1 and VTI 8.2.3 or Blackhole, but with these images my Sunray Solo2 becomes unstable and after like 30 minutes I have to power it down and up to get it working again.

With image Openpli 4 it is rocksolid, but this image has no support for CI+.

So I look for some help, which images else have support for CI+ and i can try.

Maybe you also know a reason for the instability (is it a defect with all sunray clones??), or is the problem only for a single driverversion, because with the openpli there is no problem.

I have a Sunray and a few others on here also without a problem.

I currently use OpenVix 3.2 009 without an issue.

What stability problems are you having and do you have plugins installed?

Your stability issues could be anything really like a plugin and to narrow it down it is best using image without loads of plugins and then introduce one plugin at a time over a set time period.

do you know, which Images have also Support for ci+ and can you Send me a Link to your openatv 5.1 Image, because i cannot Download it here.

The Problem i have is, that the box freezes and Doesnt React to the Remote, sometimes the picture also freezes, the box also reboots spontaneusly.
but this it Doesnt do with Image openpli 4, i am not sure why this is so.

Strange problem you have there with only openPLI working, maybe with the cam running in the CI slot your box generates more heat in generated but in openpli with no can running there isnt any extra heat as the ci slots not running.

Keep an eye on the tempratures when running the cam. Also as extra hardware is been used when the CI slot is in operation it will put more load on the PSU so try another PSU to see if you is weak..

There is a known problem with Sunrays that reported temperature maybe higher than it is but it is only what is reported to the image and is not the actual temperature I found.

For example now, I've had my box on for past 2 hours and it is reporting a temp of around 50oC and it is stable but this isn't it's true temp as it's less than this because I checked a while back using a laser thermometer.

Maybe check temp as reported by OpenPLi image (ie without CI+) after it's been on for 5/10 mins then install the other image of your choice and check temp of that after 5/10 mins when using CI+.

Does temp rise and if so, by how much?

There is no easy way of checking a faulty PSU without replacing it i'm afraid.

right now i havent used the ci+ module, because my card is functioning till Nov. 17th 2015 with oscam, so i havent put the ci+ module in the box with all images, i just wanted to make sure, that after this date, if there is no further activation without pairing, i have a receiver with no limitations.
The temperatures i think is not so high, it must be something else...

Right now i am setting up the openvix 009, which i downloaded at dreamoem, to see if this is ok.
By the way, where to put the oscam config files in this image???

The images from there are the main release images and there are plenty of users using them.

If a box is randomly crashing on various images it still despite working on openPLI suggest it could be hardware related overheating or a weak psu. please explore these issue.

I personally don't use oscam but I've read of it causing all kinds of problems especially as there are so many different variations/versions of it.

To ensure it's not oscam related on the other non-pli images then can I suggest you remove oscam softcam plugin(s), reboot and see if you can watch Free To Air (FTA) channels for over 30mins without a problem (your OP indicates about 30mins before images becomes unstable) .

It probably not oscam related but it would exclude this from future investigations.

However, stability problems like this are generally psu/over heat related but you say it's perfectly fine on pli and you haven't used/enabled CI+ on the other images so it's a hard one
