Up ya arse!
Couldn't find a neutral sat area to post in but what is considered to be the current best dual tuner sat box? I've also thought about the possibility of a box with a cable tuner and I need the box to playback HD mkv files without any issues.

There is now a Vu+ Plug & Play Hybrid 2 x DVB-T2/C

2 DVBC tuners in one.

In terms of support id use this tuner in VU+ Solo SE V2

There are other option notably in the gigablue range but id go with the above.

Got me interested now :)

Could you provide more info on this as I didn't realise there was a VU twin dvb-c box?

The Xtrends are quite cheap as well as the mutant.

If I was buying I would go for the mutant

Vu+ Plug & Play Hybrid 2 x DVB-T2/C

Its a tuner it can be used in a Uno,Ultimo,Duo2 and Solo SE
So although this is just one tuner, do the images see this as twin tuner to allow recording of two different channels at same time?

It is a twin tuner, splitter is internal.

Just like how Virgin receivers have one input with splitters inside.

As above, Technomate 3T combo are very economical for being a triple tuner unit. The Xtrend ET8000 (while on offer) just pips it.

I know this will cost slightly more but i'm thinking Vu+ Solo SE v2 with the above tuner.

This provides greater options and able to be twin satellite or twin cable tuner capable.

Can anyone see a problem with this?

I've recently ugraded to a Vu+ Solo2 and have to say I'm very impressed. Very fast, especially boot up times.

Cant seem to click like or thanks for some reason so thanks Abu Baniaz, the Xtrend with 2 dvb-s and 1 dvb-c looks like it should fit the bill, any idea when the current offer price is likely to revert as I can't really order right now as I'm not currently in the UK and won't be back until Wednesday.

Also spec wise is it comparable to the solo2 and I assume it will play mkvs with no issues like my solo2 does?

Will be a while longer.

Vu+ is the best boxes.

Latest release vu+ DVB-T2.C Turbo tuner

i replaced a faulty et8000 with a et10000 2 x sat + 2 cable tuners with a small 1 tb internal hdd,not searched for bigger yet.

I've been eyeing up the et10000 and am very tempted. There aren't very many reviews on Xtrend boxes unless my Google skills are lacking.

No, they're not. I can't find any reviews or many places selling them neither tbh.

They dont seem as well supported as some linux boxes which tends to sway me away from them.

The hardware does seem to be good a lot of the info you can find seems to be on German boards.

It's supported by the main ones like OpenVix, OpenATV and OpenPLi i've noticed.

Im not referring to image support im referring to the sat scene in general as per IamTeaf findings hard to find info or anyone speaking English that is clued up on them.
