I have the new solo2 sunray remote, and when I turn box on after a couple of minutes the box wont respond to the remote, thought it maybe a faulty remote so bought a genuine vu remote with querty keyboard still having same issues.
I have tried different vix images and still not right.
I am using the digitalworld hades 8 backup by rats at moment.

Have tried without external HDD connected but still the same,
If tv turned off for a few hours but box left on, then turn tv on the box still does not respond to remote, after say 15 mins minutes box responds to remote no problem.

I have tried different suggestion's made by posters to another thread.

Re: Vu solo 2 sunray box

Have you tried other images just to make sure its not this one in particular ?

Might sound silly but have you taken the plastic film off the front of the receiver ? May be restricting remote signal ?

Re: Vu solo 2 sunray box

Thanks for the reply rats
yes plastic strip removed, images used appollo 166, hades 001,002 and finally your digitalworld backup image hades 008

Re: Vu solo 2 sunray box

Had another thought
I had a Freeview box a few years ago where there was a know problem with the remote sensor on the front of the box, after a bit of searching I found out the sensor was facing downwards

All I had to do was remove the lid and pull the sensor up, now I dont know if this the same problem or how easy it is to get too on the Solo2 Sunray, but thought Id mention it as it could be this ?

Re: Vu solo 2 sunray box

Did I read in your other thread you have tried a brand new original remote and you still have same problem?

Do you get the vix busy icon in top left at all whilst it seems its not responding to remote?

Can you use the remote via the openwebif interface from your pc/laptop on your browser?

When I first turn the box on it boots to channel then when I try to change channel the box doesn't respond to the remote, there are no spinners just can't change channels or look at epg
And yes I have got an original vu remote with the querty keyboard
Not tried via openwebif with browser.

Re: Vu solo 2 sunray box

See if you can use openwebif to control the box (ie change channels and bring up EPG, etc). Look for any signs like slow changing channels or bringing up EPG.

the remote on openwebif changes the channels on the box and no lag

Re: Vu solo 2 sunray box

I think its looking like a sensor issue ?

Re: Vu solo 2 sunray box

Yea, it's not an image related issue nor box freezing up if you can control your box via browser remote so it's looking like sensor related.

I doubt this is issue but can you go into your menu > settings > system > remote control code which should be 2 (well it is on my sunray which uses original remote).

In fact, go through the codes one by one (you may need to restart between i'm not sure) and see if either sunray remote or your original remote control it without problem.

Re: Vu solo 2 sunray box

In the meantime u should turn on hdmi -cec and u can use the TV remote to change channels etc.

AT least ucan use the box that way.

Have u contacted the seller of the box?

Re: Vu solo 2 sunray box

Is that with the sunray remote and/or the original remote?

its with the original remote, the box responds ok, now when I turn box off that's when I have the problem

So you still have the same problem with original remote?

Is remote code still on 1 or has it defaulted back to 2?

Remote is still on 1.
I tried the remote without the tv on and it seemed to work, as soon as tv switched on box responded a couple of times then stopped.
I'm thinking it could be the tv, tv make is a Samsung.
