hey

i make my own custom channel lists as i cannot stand when the +1 version of the channel is 50 channels away from the standard channel and as everyone knows there is a lot of pointless channels.

i have this channel list on another few boxes which causes problem because i'm not always around to get to there box and update the channel list with the working channels.

im just wondering is there a plugin to make a custom channel list that will update if the channel transponder/frequency changes or any other way to make a custom channel list that will update if the channel transponder/frequency changes.

thanks

Autobouquets 28.2 will allow you to do so. You must edit the custom_sort_3 file to your liking and select sort 3 in your options.

thanks i remember talking to u before about this plugin on another site(wos) but the problem i had was it only arranges the channels it doesnt change the channel number. i want to be able to change the channel number for 100's of channels.

is that stillthe case with this plugin or can you now change the channel numbers also using this plugin.
heres the way i want the channels

Yes it will.

If the long bouquet is unwanted, you can untick default and then delete the bouquet (via image option). The plugn will not recreate the first bouquet.

ok i remember spending hours on this the last time and finally giving up because when i changed a channel for example rte1 to 1 then bbc that was 1 would change to rte1 channel number. then changed bbc to lets say 7 i would end up with problems. i think it would only change rte1 to the bbc channel number and the bbc to the rte1 channel number but not change the bbc to 7.

but i will try later and hopefully it will work.

There is a bug with Irish channels on the E2 version. These were fixed on the Neutrino one.
Until fixed this won't work easily for Irish chanenls. You will have to play around with the supplement file. Upload the sort file you had and I will see if I can get anywhere with it.

You can also do similar things with ABM. I'll try and post a custom lcn file for you to start you off later

hey
i spent a some time messing about with this last night but was having problems. only a few channels were swapping. i only swapped about 5 channels as a test. some swapped but some didn't. they were all Irish channels. could this be due to the problem u described above. i'll put up screen shots of my swap file when i get home. i meant to do it last night but was not in the humor.

With ABM it is also possible.

1. Edit your xml file so that the entertainment bouquet starts at 1 instead of 101

2. Edit the custom lcn file in the order that you want. The LCN value is the position that it will be put into. The "channel number" is what the original number was. I have started it off for you.

3. The custom file goes in /usr/lib/enigma2/python/Plugins/SystemPlugins/AutoBouquetsMaker/custom

4. Best to run without swap to keep things simple.

sorry for the late reply. i dont get any notifications from this site any more for some reason.

are you saying there is no point in using auto laizer bouquets e2 so and that im better off using the auto bouquet.

thanks for all the help

If you are in Ireland, you will get issues using Lraizer's plugin when you start customising. Defaults are fine. Will be fine once he has modified it.

Can you also post a shot of the file location on your receiver.

i was thinking that but i done a scan on ROI sd and ur list didnt seem to work.

i finally got it working using hd example list but only with using the 101,102,103 numbering system. but when i change the number to 1,2,3, etc instead of 101,102,103 they dont show. i got the example hd irl and modifyied it and removed the example from the start of the name.

Did you carry out this step?

1. Edit your xml file so that the entertainment bouquet starts at 1 instead of 101

hey i got a few more questions.

Q1
first of all. after a few days the irish channels and another few channels get changed. im assuming this is because the channel numbers change as channels are added to the list so the channel number of the channel is offset by 1 or 2 due to new channels after being added.
is there a way to rectify this?

Q2
the channels have the numbering i want them to have in the "all channels" bouquet but in the entertainment bouquet and all others. the channels will start with the last number of the previous bouquet +1. e.g. if the last number in all channels is 1341 the the first channel in entertainment will be 1342. but i want the channels in the entertainment bouquets to have the same number as it has in the all channels bouquet.
is there some way to get rid of the all channels bouquet?

Q3
is there some way to get the channel number with abm to show the channel numbers in the standard epg on vix.

Q4
will new channels be automatically added to my bouquets. e.g if a new channel is added to sly uk entertainment will it be added to my entertainment bouquet?

i added my list incase anyone else would like it.
all channels that someone would actually watch are included and all +1 channels are next to the normal channel. not 50 away like sly

btw thanks a lot for your help.

There is no numbering in Enigma2. The "numbers" are dynamic and also depends from which bouquet the chanenl was selected. Channel numbers are also cumulative across the bouquets, unless you have alternative numbering. If you have alternative numbering each bouquet starts at 1. What this means is that if you have the all channels bouquets (for purposes of the plugin, it is called the main bouquet), the entertainment bouquet will start at the next number after all the chanenls in the main bouquet.

Q2.
The existence/type of the main bouquet is optional. You can disable it, hd, fta hd, or selecting an existing bouquet. Look for "generate main bouquet" in your provider options.

Q3.
Simple answer is no. This is because of the lack of numbering in E2. Lraizer's plugin optionally prints the number next to the name. ABM does not do this.
You can however enable it in the infobar as it works on the bouquet "in hand". User interface> Settings > Show channel numbers in infobar

Q1.
If official numbers change, then it gets complicated. Not sure what version you are on, but there was a modification so that any new channels end up being tagged at end.

Q4.
If the official channel number is in your customised lineup, it will fall in the exact place you have placed it. If not, it will be at the end.

i cant believe it but the irish channels have changed channel numbers since i uploaded the list a few hours ago.

i think i will just forget about using abm as with the irish channels changing there number every day it. its going to cause more work for me than without using it.

thanks for all your help none the less

Disappointed to hear that Alan ,it would be great if you could get it going.

I tried to do what you did with Autobouquets a few years ago but I couldnt get the channel order I wanted as like you I could only swap channels with each other .

I like the channel order of Autobouquets on the Commando e1 images ,its well laid out ,PaphosAL even took on board my feedback about arranging the Irish channels like you want them Alan.
Its easy to see whats on and you have the most popular channels at the start and the +1 channels aren't orphaned.

It would be nice if that channel order could be used on the E2 version .

I might have a play around with this if I get some time .
