Vu Solo 2 V4 update.

Hi All,
I have been trying to update my solo2 Lonrisun to V4 update.The problem is during update it says Starts .....22 dots ....download complete. Then restart box and then image stays hangs or spining icon . I have tried Vti 7 ,Blackhole 2.1.1 and Openvix.

What is this v4 update, and what is the point in the update from v2 to v4

Personally, I want to have the latest Vti 7 version running.

I like vix and atv so you will need to upgrade for latest image

lads this V4 upgrade is so your box won,t get bricked and without the V4 you can not use
VTI-7.0 VU+SOLO2 ,
OPENPLI-4.0 VU+SOLO2 2014.09.02 , OPENVIX VU+SOLO2 opollo 29 ,
BlackHole-2.3.0 VU+SOLO2 and i think
BlackHole-2.2.0 VU+SOLO2 so just be careful these images have the new kernel& drivers use these without V4 and your going have to replace the flash chip like loads of us already had to do ,and don,t worry your not missing out on anything with these images if you have a stable setup stick with i say until newer version are released which have been promised but have not shown up yet on vu-hd site and the open pli 2014.9.02 is the best image there at the moment well for me so far tryed vix but i keep going back to open pli for tsmedia not a fan of vix anymore even on original boxes so it,s back to basics for me anyway ,regards dubliner

Sounds like your box is not reading the usb pendrive try a different one if you can , and if you hav,nt got one spare format the one you have in FAT32 in windows but uclick the quick format mode let it format then try again or use a format program if you have one , and are you getting a display screen on your box !.

@dubliner, yeah, its display .after connecting Sat cable and Ethernet cable it just hangs, that tells me it didn't update properly.

Have you tryed another usb pen and have you flashed this box before or did you just get this box in from china !, here,s a video howto flash your box if your not sure all credit goes to poster of the vid , just copy the vuplus folder to the usb pen follow the vid that,s if your not sure on howto flash these yet ! and i say it,s something simple like usb pen that,s giving you the trouble .

Sounds like usb pen drive gone faulty..

@s4lah. Maybe but I flashed my current image VTI 6.0.8 using this stick. When I updated to V3 the DOTs was 15 but with V4 its 22 DOTs i.e during Start and download complete. Has anyone updated to V4 and How many DOTs are there ?

Not sure about the dots never checked that when flashing ,i,d do a factory reset on the box then flash V4 again mybe it did,nt work first time ! , then use the partion tool in the link and wipe data on your usb pen first then format again to FAT32 then try flashing again ,you know how to flash these boxes so my money on the usb pen hope you get this sorted i say your pee off by now and i,ve had this problem myself before , regards dubliner

From what you're describing the v4 update is working as intended. It was never a fix to get the box working with the latest drivers and images it's there to simply stop the box getting bricked.

@IAmATeaf .What you said is right but all these Images like Blackhole 2.1.1 and VTI 7 were downloaded from VU-HD and It's suppose to work with V4 update.

is there any way to tell if you have the v4 update or not?

Thanks Everyone for your support,I finally succeeded updating to V4 update using the original cable that came with the box .Never use null modem cable.

Hello IAmATeaf, could you please provide me with the v4 update, or shortcut to it, as I have just brought my box back to life using the I2C method but when trying to load the vix_Apollo_078_Lonrisun_Clone_Only image it boots to 99% then the vix symbol comes on and it goes no further. Hoping I just need to upgrade my bootloader to get around this. My box is the Lonrisun version.
