Duo2 looks nice but not sure about 2 displays?

Also it is using ultimo chassis.. but defo like the looks... taking satellite a step futher.

Be intresting to see one working and what the performance is like and is it xmbc or enigma 2? Looks impressive... Nice hardware...

Kinda feel stupid for buying an ultimo now lol

Personally I'd prefer to see the money spent on the internals than on extra screens on the fascia with limited possibilities. This is probably a question nobody can answer, but typically with VU, how long form an event like this before they're available to buy? Would be cool to see a proper retail STB with XBMC.

Is Hbbtv going to be available in UK or just those with motorised setup?

From what I've just read it's being adopted in France, Spain and Germany with many others in Europe committing to it..... UK however went ahead with Freesat and will have to wait for 2nd gen boxes to support it. Not read anything about our broadcast providers however.

Im sure I read after the olympics they are going to start rolling out the freeview epg rewind thing, so cant see them taking on a new platform like Hbbtv

I wonder how much the duo2 would be retailing for once it is released?

id say its going to be£450 to £500 m8.. i hope they put better tuners in it as the duo ones are shite!! ive said this before but imho we all slate DMM for overpricing their stuff but it seems now that vu arent far behind. regards mdt

Yes not the cheapest m8 but what can you do... if people pay that price then it will stay at that price for a while.

Might look at the duo2 ... supposed to have blindscan support... Hopefully.

The only use of the lcd display i can think of is having a map to my fridge on there so i can find the cider!

for the record these receivers are enigma 2 not XBMC there is a demo Marusys PrismCube model running XBMC but its not going to be the solo2 or duo2.

As you may remember, on last years Anga Cable VU+ announced they would be working on a complete new operating system for STB's, called XMBC for STB's, and they revealed their 'XMBC4STB roadmap'. If you forgot about it: it's attached.

At the present Anga Marusys, the mother-company of VU+, has presented their first public demonstration of XMBC4STB on a hardwareline called PrismCube. Some more information can be found on the prismcube's website, see:

I don't know what you think about this, but in my opinion this looks very promising: a complete new way of operating a MediaCenter & Satellite-TV!

I like the look of XBMC playing on this machine, had a look around but can not find any dates when it is meant to be coming out.

its still in very very very earl beta status and no where near finished so dont expect to see it on the market any time soon, even when it is XBMC it self is no where near as customisable as the existing E2 systems so that will need working on too.

Same here it looks very sleek and fast almost makes the E2 receivers we have now look pretty average, This has to be the way to go for future releases its just a shame they stuck with E2 on the Solo/Duo2.

I know where my money is going.

Hate to bump an old thread, but just saw this now. Prism Cubee xD Cant wait, although it is going to be priced sky high.
And £500 for the duo2 is crazy, spending that much on an e2 receiver just doesnt make sense anymore, especially after looking at the above :D

Also see what Dream bring to the mix with Goliath once thats released. Thing is theres no innovation really Linux recievers just seem to be leaching off most of Dreams codebase with Enigma 2. Theres doesnt seem to be any effort going into producing anything different.

Yeah id love to see what they're planning but its going to have to be something very special and becuase of the huge community around xbmc already its highly likely that the prism cube will take off, if its not priced toooo high.
