How to delete settings restore??/

for those who helped me last night, this is the same box unfortunately

Had a box with vix image on it, did full image back up to USB, then flashed my own vusolo se in order to change it from pli to vix....basically did this as a 'shortcut' to get sky skin set up etc which other box had..... worked ok, then I tried doing a settings back up within Vix from the same box..... then the menus crapped themselves....still have blue sky template in background but menus, epg etc is like standard vix skin.....

is there any way to reverse the restore of user settings that I completed??

even tried MCU flashing box to reset all and start from scratch but when I turn box back on it just loads up same image with same issues.

Sorry, i'm not clear which skin you're trying to delete?

The skins are in folders usually within "/usr/share/enigma2/" so for Blue-HD skin the location is "/usr/share/enigma2/Blue-HD"

I read on vix forum a long time ago, but never had to do this so cant confirm, that within Vix if you put box to sleep (telnet init 4) and delete the actual folder for the skin (blue-HD in my example) and delete line beginning, "config.skin.primary_skin" from your settings file (/etc/enigma2/) then reboot box (telnet init 6), Vix will use default skin.

Maybe make another backup of your image just in case.

Are you trying to get Blue-HD working or the Pli sky skin on Vix because I know that some screens aren't skinned when using Pli sky skin (v2.5).

I would personally (if you havent already)
Get the receiver how you like it with plugins such as epg etc
make a complete backup

then start playing with skins etc, you can always put the backup on to get you out of trouble then play again lol

as ketmp says you can remove skins from /usr/share/enigma2/
but I cant state enough always have a working backup to hand

took your advice of this guys...started fresh and set up then played with skins and got where i wanted to be!! cheers

What image you using? What are you trying to do? What is password protecting?

I'm new to this.
i only know. That the image ofvthe vu + solo is blackhole.
the password and username to enter setup fom dcc

The default username for BH for use with telnet etc is "root". There isn't a default password unless one has been set.

I don't think it's easy to change root password without knowing it as that would defeat the whole point of it

Flashing is possible without it but then you need your line details first wont you?

I managed to flash it, but the image i downloaded was way too bad

the supplier offered to delete everything from it.
but like that i would need to program it from scratch ??
does anyone know where to download a whole pakage please??
and how exactly please

You can do a fresh flash via usb but you need to know if your box is clone or original because if it's a clone and you flash original image you may brick your box.

What did you flash when you flashed it and where did you get the image from?

I got it from a site
but no good as it didn't have cccam in it.
i flashed it trought usb.
does anyone know where i can find a good image ( as this site won't let me i don't know why.

Is your box definitely a VU+ Solo ? Not something like VU+ Solo SE or Solo2, etc?

What was website you got that image from that worked (as in flashed okay) because that could possibly indicate what clone it is (if relevant)?

Don't post full website address, just put something like vu-hd website !!

Are you sure it's a clone then as I didn't think VU Plus community did images for clones?
