Can you double check what receiver you have?
Have you got both power and sata cables connected?
What filesystem is the HDD in?

EDIT: Solo SE does not have internal HDD connections

I had a similar problem with an external HD. When I first used it, everything was working fine but after a reboot the HD was no longer recognized and no amount of formatting or initializing through the solo would sort it. I had to connect the HD to my laptop and use disk management to remove the existing partition and reformat to exFAT.

Been fine ever since...well until the next reboot so I try to watch most things I have recorded as soon as possible. :)

Iv had that same problem on a couple of clones, i think some clones dont have enough power for the hdd

Think I know the problem - not sure of the answer. In my set up menu I don't see a storage devices option. Has anyone else experienced this and what's the solution pls

You will see that option if a hdd/usb is reconized

Format hdd to fat32 on pc then, attach hdd, then on box, blue, vix, mount manager, set up mounts, u should now see your hdd, press along untill you see media/hdd, save restart, that should be you

hmmm...ive got an external hdd without a power supply (powered through usb) thinking i might encounter some issues now.

If you are using Vix image then storage options is in the Image by default.
Menu/set up/system/storage devices.
Make sure you scroll through the whole menu in system as its 2 pages.
