I was at a mate`s house and he said his box had stopped clearing channels,so I told him it was probably his line had expired and I told him I`d get him a new one.In the meantime he tried to update his BH image using the remote. Now there`s nothing, just a green light.I had a look inside the stb and can see Lorisun stickers,so I gather it`s a clone. It has VU+solo v1.4 marked on the motherboard. Is it bricked before I try and flash a new image?

Hi sounds like the box is bricked as its been time bombed by vu which basically destroys the flash chip..only solution is to remove and replace chip but with a solo clone you will be better off buying a new box like a zgemma star s1 which is up datable and well supported or the like and starting a fresh.

Hi, I have a similar problem with my VU+Solo. As far as I am aware it is a genuine VU (I bought it as a genuine box) and I was trying to update the image and halfway through the update we had a power dip and the electricity tripped out. Now I only have a red led on the front of the unit. I have tried inserting USB with image/bootloader etc but I can't get the box to do anything. Can anyone advise??? Thanks

If it is not responding to usb then your only option is to try with the VU+ Util a null modem cable and a nfi image.

Picture of your motherboard would help us determine if its a clone or real box cause you dont want to flash the wrong image.

Hi.I have connected the VU with a null modem cable from USB on my pc to the RS232 port on the rear of the vu. I have run the VU+util program, setting the correct IP addresses and then clicking connect. I get the following message "Serial port open success. Please turn on your box". The problem is my box is already on, it makes no difference if I leave the vu powered off & turn it on when the vu+util asks for it. As the vu does not respond to the standby button I am stumped. Any suggestions. Thanks

I had the same problem with my VU+solo (clone), Updated with genuine FW.
You could try JTAG EZ-USB FX2LP .
