vu uno harware or software issue?

Hi guy - bloke at work is selling me he's vu uno, around 4-5 months old..he says it keeps coming up with message

"No data on transponder - time out reading pat"....is this worth buying...is it fixable or is it a hardware issue...getting it cheap..this happens when he tries to watch any channel..ta

hes tried different images, still get same problem, so im assuming its a hardware fault...so not really worth it...been reading on the net, regarding some update you have to do to it, but im sure he has done that,....ill give it a miss lol, anyway just ordered a vu+solo from the satshop,

hows satshop's customer service? are they reliable?

if the box is 4-5 months old then it should be under warrenty, shouldnt it? regards mdt

yes, tell him to contact the seller and seek a repair or replacement from therm under the terms of the warranty.

Not bothered now to be honest, probably older then 4 months...bought a solo instead...brand new and genuine from thesat shop..

Personally i would have bought the Uno if its the FPGA upgrade its a piss easy fix and can be done via the Plugin menu on most images, you would have got decent Ultimo spec in the Uno instead of the outdated solo and duo chipset. But as long as your happy thats all that matters

lol...yeah could have missed a bargain...he wanted £140 for it but i dint really wanna take the risk, went for the simple vu+solo instaed, i feel its a little expensive but will do the job as a second box, kids will be happy at least...lol
