I currently have a duo2 with twin Sat tuners. Getting fed up with only two tuners and don't really want to install extra cables so weighing up options. Contemplating upgrading to 4k receiver but not sure whether it would gain me anything. Money not an issue but no point spending if gaining absolutely nothing.

Can anyone help with these questions to help me decide what to get.

Bearing in mind I'm on a SD only (other than FTA) setup, is there any noticeable picture difference on these boxes with their upscaling onto a 4ktv?

If I got a solo 4k with twin sat tuner and left existing lnb in place would it cover me for 3 or 4 recordings most of the time or have regular problems?

If I kept duo2 and got unicable lnb can I just put splitter behind this and other receivers in house to use extra tuners in them all?

Any help appreciated guys

With FBC tuner using standard/universal LNB, you will get access to the same quadrant as opposed to just same frequency/transponder. So, not as restricted as normal tuner, but still restricted.

Yes you can. Unicable 1 LNBs are usually 4 SCRs. Better to get JESS/Unicable2 LNB which are typically 24/32 SCR.

So replacing the lnb is gonna be important whether I get new receiver or not. Anyone got any experience on the upscaling of the 4k? Will it provide any improvement on SD to my 4k tv?
