I am a bit confused as I've seen people advising to get a HDD rather than an SSD.

Is really an SSD that bad? Wouldn't it be way faster and quieter? It's the shorter life span still a concern?

I'd rather get a 250Gb SSD one rather than a 3Tb HDD, so the price doesn't matter to me when it comes to this.

You dont need the speed of the ssd in the duo2 so why over engineer your box ? The only benefit is quieter operation.

Indeed, and the heat dissipated by the mechanical drive, should that be a worry at all?

Not heat issues on my duo 2 the internal fan does its job.

Only speed benefit i could see would be some people would ftp media downloaded from the net to their duo 2 to play it, obviously the increased speed may help there.

Oh, that's not a thing I'd do so not a problem. I'll get a HDD then, thanks for advice!
