Motorised Dish Issues

Hi Guys,

I have a motorised dish, which was originally set up by someone,

I'm now running a new box which seems to work fine with everything in the east, however I can't get any west satalites, does anyone have a good walk through on set up, or can point me in the right direction on how to position the motor/dish physically or on the box, which will then enable me to sweep and get more than just the damn East!!! lol

Make sure your coordinates are correct under the Tuner config menu.

If they are then it may be the dish alignment id off slightly.

Hi Ferret,

I am currently getting 28.2E and 19.0E with no problems, would that suggest that the dish is aligned?

do i need to tell it limits?

Ive added my tuner as a USALS and set the correct coordinates for my post code,

Just because you get 2 sats does not make the alignment across the whole arc correct. Those 2 are strong sats and you could get signal with a dish/motor not correctly setup on the arc.

Can you get 1 west ?

no west 1 no west at all, I tried to calibrate in positioner setup, and it seemed to lock
on all points with no issues, but when I go to manual scan and set up a positioner with multiple sats
and get all of the eastly satellites come up but nothing in the west shows up,

Ive had a motorised dish for ages but am new to the setup of motorised dishes

You really need to check and tweak the one west position and the others should fall into place read this guide.
