Newbie problem with CAM module

Hi everyone !

I recently purchased the Vu+duo2 and would like to utilize my regular subscription from Can***** caraïbes. Do I have to utilize a Cam module or is it possible to use my subsciption card from the provider in a card reader of the STB ?
Does any softcam program make this possible?
I have a single dish aimed to Intesat 903 34.5W where the program comes from.
I utilized an Astoncrypt Mediagard2 CAM module but i am unable to watch a program while recoding a second one : the screen gets black when I change channel while a recording is already running

Should I also run another software on my STB ? With the original soft from Vu+ things seem to be rather unpractical.

Check your tuner config.Make sure tuner A and tuner B are set to simple/single.

I could not solve the problem. I tried the simple/single tuner config. I also tried different Aston CAMs but in no case I could watch a channel while recording another; even when the channels are on the same transponder there is no way.
The retailer from whom I purchased the box sells special Aston pro-CAMs allegedly with multiple descramble capability. They cost more than the Duo2 itself!
I also Installed the Blackhole image which looks more convenient to use and to adjust.

I am still thinking about utilizing a soft cam to get it fixed. Duo2 has huge processing power and lot of memory to achieve that!


Another question is where to edit a channel list and create favorite folders, and how to delete recorded files (as I have a lot of them due to the many tests I ran) : didn't spot the right plugins or extensions.

Problem solved !

Installed VTI image and Cccam softcam and come with a second coax from my LNB (quad) going to tuner C. Tuner A is looped to tuner B and tuner C to tuner D. My subscription card is inserted in the card reader in th Vu+ duo². Now I can record 3 (three) programs, even one of them in HD and watch another one also in HD all of them on different transponders. All four tuners at work !

Great quality on the direct watched channel as well on the different recordings. No freeze, no drop outs !
